What if boxing would have kept the old weight divisions and same day weigh in

    There would be fewer multi division champs.

    It would stop the Gatti/Gamache like incidents.

    It would be better.

    I started a thread similar to this after the Mosley-Margo fight after seeing them both enter the ring as Middleweights. It seems the general concensus was 1). alot of boxing fans don't care as much about it as I thought they would and 2). there would be alot more ring fatalities and brain damage because with the millions of dollars at stake you just couldn't trust the fighters to make the best decisions for their health.

    The old rules were better, also the 15 round championship was awesome.

    it would be like fighting someone on a regular day. Coming in your natural weight.

    I almost agree with you, but then we would not have some of the nice matchups we get. In theory it should be on the morning of the fight.
