Let's say Dawson defeats Johnson in November (without controversy), and faces Hopkins in February of 2010. Who would win? Why?
hard to bet against bernard after the beatdown he gave to KP but like lacyace said he has to get old at some point.. my brain tells me dawson by decision
Hopkins would do to Dawson what he did to Pavlik. Dawson is all hype. It's only a matter of time until he's exposed.
Can't see any version other than a prime Hopkins beating Dawson. Dawson is a good combination puncher, has a high workrate but most importantly has the hand speed and mobility to be able to get in range and land.
Taylor was largely hype, but his speed still bothered Hopkins. A serious speed advantage is the one quality in an opponent Hopkins doesn't neutralize well. RJJ, Taylor, Calzaghe, very different fighters, all faster than Hopkins, all beat him. Even if the second fight with Taylor should have been scored for Hopkins IMO, he still only camo on strong when Taylor faded. I take Dawson over Taylor anytime. KP was slower than Hopkins, when Bhop has the speed advantage, he is unbeatable.
