Dawson is no Lacy imo but he still needs to prove it a couple of times more before he starts fighting career defining fights.

As for Haye v Dawson, it's a total physical mismatch so I don't really think it's a question. BUT

Haye is overrated as a boxer and could well be exposed at heavyweight as soon as he moves up. Having said that he has excellent one punch power.

i would imagine so. there are CW's that dawson and calzaghe could hang with, but haye isn't one of them. he is an absolute powerhouse, i'd love to see a full blooded haye shot land on wlad's chin, messy.

What the **** are some of you smoking? Haye is much bigger, and has heavyweight power, he would crush him

He might look good with his speed advantage for a few minutes, but Haye is no slouch, and when he gets hit he will never wake up

Under normal circumstances that would be the case, however Dawson is superhuman, due to being American

Haye would end his boxing career, if not his life

Good job he's not as stupid as some people on here

it's not an unreasonable question when the LHW in question is a pretty big guy who will more than likely one day grow into CW and maybe even HW. but i think the CW that he is being placed against here is one step too far, haye after all is a monster CW.

Yes it is a pointless question really. Dawson looks good, I am impressed with what I have seen, but he was dropped and hurt by Adamek and dropped before by some journeyman.
To put him in with a guy like Haye who is too big for Cruiser and an absolute monster puncher is stupid, it is like saying (as you said) Calzaghe v Haye....

dawson's the real deal, you only have to watch him to see what a well rounded boxer he is. i don't understand why he's being hated on by a bunch of insular people from the UK who are crying out at yanks being insular whilst doing the exact same thing themselves.

He might be the real deal at LHW

But from what I've seen he's been hurt badly at LHW, stepping into the ring with David Haye isn't exactly the smartest of moves

Only a yank could start such a thread

the point is that dawson is a huge bloke who will more than likely move up to CW at some point in the future, HW has also been touted for him.

I'm a fan of both boxers, but Haye's size advantage is simply too great here. Haye would be difficult for Dawson even if there wasn't such a gulf in strength and power, since Haye has a great straight right hand and an underrated left jab (it had Mormeck off-balance for most of their fight).

    Pac vs Hatton...hehe

I can't even imagine Pacquiao at 140. He'd look stupid, the worst move up since Winky-Wright against Hopkins

Some of these fantasy match-ups are just that, fantasy. There is a good reason for weight divisions. Can be bridged at the right time, but some of these are just spastic. Somebody like Dawson, who has yet to really make a name for himself, and has been hurt, stepping up 2 divisions to fight one of the biggest punchers on the planet

A superfeather, stepping up to fight the strongest 140lb fighter there has been for a long time
