There is little chance of this fight happening, as both seem to be looking in other directions, but it seems like a good fight to me. Haye had fast hands, and seems to be carrying his punch well in the heavies. There is some question about his chin, but his fans hope that putting weight onto his 6'3, natural heavyweight frame will help rather than hinder. Haye had also been criticized for his stamina, but again, goin to heavy, where guys are natually slower, might be an advantage. Then you Chagaev, who had an iron chin, great stamina, a wealth of skills from his incredible amatuer carrer, a soutpaw stance and some power in the left up the pipe, but who is undersized and underperforming, possibly hampered by what ever mystery illnes (hepitit? Blindness? Numbness?) has caused him to cancel fights. Both fighters are interesting, for depiste championships and wins over good competition, they have more questions about them than answers. So, how do you see this one palying out?
I don't know how Haye does against lefties, but I would go with him to win by TKO in the later rounds, after getting dropped himself. Despite the victory he would be derided for being chinny and respect for both fighters would drop. My opinion anyway.
Chagaev puts Haye away in early rounds by KO or referee stops fight to save Haye from brutal beating.
Depends. Ruslan looked poor against Skelton, but that was after illness and a layoff. If the two fought now I would pick Haye to overwhelm him down the stretch, but if Ruslan can get in some rounds in his next fight, stay healthy enough to do maybe anothe tune-up and he looks as sharp as he was against Ruiz and Valuev, then he would be even odds with David in my mind. If he can get back where he was, he'd be the man best suited to unseat the Klitschko's, stylistically.
Chagaev stoppage after some rough patches. I'm assuming he's still in his prime after all his layoff issues.
Its very easy to say Haye by KO. By Chagaev has a good chin on him and a great amateur record like Haye. Im going with Haye by points.
I'd wait until we see what Chagaev looks like in his next fight before I decide. See how much the layoff and illness have effected him.
Haye's speed might win him some early rounds, but Haye's stamina, and chin are very suspect. I think Chagaev Ko's Haye. It would be an interesting match.
Two very good amateur records in heavyweight division. A point win for one of them is the most reasonable outcome. See Wlad v Sultan.
