I just thought this morning of the possibility that Cotto goes in the dressing room on Dec 3 in order to supervise Margo's wraps and while it has been properly done... What do you guys think? Would this give Cotto a mental advantage?
Its will have no bearing on the outcome. Only certain fighters are susceptible to mind games, and Marg is not one of them. And come on lets be honest, there is 0% chance he will be using loaded gloves.
No. It will give Margo a mental advantage cause if Cotto is that worried at that point, he is in bigger trouble and margo knows he's got him beat.
That would be a terrible strategic move for Cotto. I hope Cotto isn't that worried about the wrapps, Cotto needs to focus on his game plan and let his trainers and the commision worry about the wraps. :good
Cotto should have a box of plaster of paris delivered to his dressing room just to fack with Margarito's team.
I believe Cotto found solace in the fact that Margo was caught cheating in the very next fight after his loss to margo. That, to me has more of a mental advantage for Cotto than does checking the wraps right before the fight. Cotto can look at the first fight and say to himself that he was winning the fight handily and if not for the wraps he would have won easily.
I disagree, I worry for Cotto because I think he is putting a little too much into the hand wrap thing. What happens if Margarito didn't use loaded gloves in the first fight and we get to round 7 and the tide starts turning in Margarito's favour. Cotto will realise he isn't in there with what he thought he was and it will be game over, mentally done. Cotto needs to approach this fight and assume Margarito never used loaded gloves and he is in with the same animal as 3 years ago.
On 24/7, Margarito offered to let Cotto wrap his hands. I can just see that. LOL! And it was also mentioned that Cotto claims no one from his camp went to watch Margarito getting wrapped the first time around. That big mistake falls on Evangelesta . Tony and his people claim , yes someone from Cottos camp was there, but they can't say who. Then , how would they know the person was sent by Miguel? Everytime an incident like this happens (like Panama Lewis removing the stuffing from Louie Resto's gloves back in '83) the commissions and the trainers become more careful, so it'll be interesting to see how Tony does against Cotto without the proverbial horseshoe in his glove.
