What if Duran never had trouble making weight, where would he rank?

One can only imagine what his career would have been like it he was always in tip-top shape.

He'd likely have been 3-4 places higher on the ATG list. At the very least he'd probably would have beaten Hagler, (he was ahead on the cards after 12) and he probably wouldn't have had the "no mas" incident.

What other fights may he have won and where do you think he'd be ranked?

Would have made very little difference, legacy wise. As far as the Hagler fight goes,Roberto was in good shape for that one, anyway. Just as he was against Pipino Cuevas and Davey Moore in the same year.

The 'No Mas' incident was more a psychological matter than a physical one.

However you look at it,Duran was one of the greatest pound for pound

surely the fact he didn't have the dedication to stay in tip top shape answers your question

Not sure what that means. We know he wasn't always in shape during the later part of his career, but had he been what likely would have transpired?

Would he still have lost to benitez and SRL because of the style issue?

Would "no mas" have occurred, since it was largely out of frustration from being taunted. Had he been in better shape maybe he tracks down SRL instead of quiting? But still looses ?

Would he have lost to Kirkland Laing ? Sims?

The only thing I'm relatively sure about is that he likely would have beaten Hagler given that he was ahead after 12 rounds and ran out of gas. The rest of the questions I'm not sure about.

I guess the purpose of the question is to try and seperate his losses from guys who would likely always beat him verses guys who won only because they weren't fighting the best version of him.

He may have beaten Leonard in the 2nd fight, but would have have been inclined to move up to middle? Would he have went to 140 and stayed and missed out on fighting Leonard?
