had stayed within the Oliver McCall group and hung around until Mike Tyson got out of the joint? Manny demands respect, and I think he would have been an excellent trainer for Mike. What do you think would have happened if Manny never trained Lewis but trained Tyson instead?

Mike would have smoked weed, ****ed bitches and not trained other than lazy **** in the weights room and sparring. What short fighters has Steward had success with anyway?

Any well regarded trainer coming out of prison would have been better than Jay Bright and Stacey McKinley who I think he picked up some basic bad habits with just getting back into boxing after a long layoff.
Tyson was not the same fighter mentally or physically coming out of the klink, and he had a pretty unique style that noone else really taught besides Rooney, who kind of molded that style in his own way to meet Tysons physical attributes. I believe Tyson did have a chance to get a lot of his ability back had he returned to Rooney.

Steward seems to have more success with taller fighters who work behind their jab, but he loves offensive fighters.

I think Tommy Brooks was doing a great job with Tyson, he was having Tyson do some different things and it was starting to work nicely. You saw Tyson using a lot of angles and moving around his opponent, and that was more suited to Tyson's poor conditioning, because he was never consistently in the proper fighting shape, and he didnt stay in training enough to regain that excellent timing that he used when he was younger to just come forward slip punches and counter.
Brooks had him punching and then stepping off and punching more in angles.

Lewis had he stayed with Correa would have had a vastly shorter career. His balance and chin were not condusive to that fighting style he was fighting.

I'm a big Tyson fan, but as we all have to admit, Tyson didn't always have a great work ethic and wasn't metally strong.

By mentally strong, I mean that he can become mentally defeated and give up despite being a physical beast.

His fight with Lennox is a great example. Tyson was so so past it that he didn't have the speed and agility of his prime that would have allowed him to easily close the gap, get inside and KO Lewis.

Once Mike figured that out, he was beaten, but the fight lasted a few more pathetic rounds.

Manny wouldn't work with Mike if he thought Mike was a quitter or had a crap work ethic.
