Let's say Evander Holyfield decided drop back down to Cruiserweight and tried to unify all the titles after the Lennox Lewis fights in 2000? Would he be successful or would the age and weight drain weaken him?

It would have weakened him too much

You mean stop juicing, it looks like he’d easily make cruiser ever since he retired lol.

If weight doesn't effect him an aging Holyfield vs Jirov would be interesting.

Wouldn't have mattered, father time still kicks his ass. His opponents at cruiserweight only would've aided time.

Im not sure the weight loss would effect him as much as his age and his shoulder injuries. His trilogy with Ruiz didn't exactly set the world on fire. He went 1-4-1 following Ruiz.

But whos idea was it to put him in with Toney, Ruiz, and Donald all in a row? All cuties that can make anyone look bad, let alone an again, injured fighter.

There might have been a path for Holyfield to win a CW title, but seeing how he was booked as a heavyweight I'm not sure what path that would be.

An aging Holyfield might be able to have success in a very weak cruiserweight division. Cruiserweights isn't known for it's legends. An average fighter like Rickey Parkey had a title there.

Looks like the champions starting in 2000 were Johnny Nelson (WBO) Fabrice Tiozzo (WBA) Jirov (IBF) and Gomez (WBC). It would of been a fun alternate reality but i dont think hes beating all of these guys at his age and dropping down.

If there is a belt on the line.. Holyfield might pull a rabbit out of his hat again. Focus way deep.

I could see something like this happening. Definitely be better than the horrible Ruiz trilogy.
