If he did, Floyd would come in at 147 while Ortiz comes in at 144 at the last minute. :thumbsup

Can you re-phrase and ask again? Specifics are nice.

    Geesus!!
What if he had asked for a 144 catch weight in order to fight Ortiz for the 147 wbc crown, make that belt to avoid more confusion.

Again, Floyd would come in at 147 anyway at the last minute and say this a welterweight bout while Ortiz drains back down to 144 and collect a couple hundred grand.

The last time Floyd signed to fight at 144, he showed up 2 pounds over. ***** move.

  9. It was OK for him to do with Marquez but you wouldn't approve it for Ortiz?

Why would he fight at 144 for the 147 title if he is more comfortable at 147 to begin with?? The question dosen't make sense, im sorry.

It takes 2 fighters to agree to catchweights. It's funny when the 2 people strapping on gloves agree on a weight, it is the couch potato boxing fan whose only fight will probably involve who gets the last beer, throws a fit.

In other words, there shouldn't be a problem if both fighters agree and that's how it should be. Nobody here threw a fit when Paul Williams asked Sergio Martinez for a catchweight. Of course, Paul Williams doesn't have the haters that Pac does, so it's all very clear.

Hold up man, its not that simple. Its not just both fighters agree, its one fighter HAS to agree if its a big fight or he dont get paid. Example Pac setting catch weights on fighters. Its so much money involved, the better agree or they dont get payed. Money makes them agree, they dont agree just because they think its fair.

Floyd would get the same **** from me that emmanuel does for challenging for a belt at a catchweight.

Same thing if he decided to go cry to his lawyers and sue in court instead of fight it out in the prizering.

Pac asked Cotto to come in 1 pound less than he did against Clottey after wanting him to come down to 143 initially. Cotto offered 145, as his doctor said it was the lowest weight he could safely go down to. Pac had much more money to lose than Cotto as his purse was 4 times as much.

It also takes 2 fighters to make big payday fights.
