So why didn't he choose Cotto first though some may call already a shot after Pac would still be a good test for Floyd. How about Josh Clottey?
If he had fought Cotto, people would say he ducked his only threat in Mosely to fight Pac's leftovers. And everyone would have really ripped him for choosing Clottey. If he fights Pac and then either Sergio or Paul, then everyone who claims they don't like him because of his choice of competition should be fans for life. But just like Freddie Roach, those people will change the reason they hate him to "I can't stand his personality outside the ring"
He first came back soley for the purpose of Pac....he had a warmup....then went for Pac ...didnt happen then went for Mosley...i dont understand why you seem to think he should have went for Cotto or Clottey before Mosley and Pac.
No, so you would know what had transpired by then after that Pac fight negotiation went to nothing. He could have chosen other worthy opponents rather than having an eye for Hatton or even Nate Campbell.
Floyd took the best fight out there after negotiations with Pac fell down, it might not have turned out to be the biggest challange but it was the fight fans wanted him to take.
I at one point doubted he would fight Shane, but he surprised me and took the fight when the opportunity presented itself. Then he survived a brief scare to punish Shane all night. There is no longer a "cherry picker" Floyd. From here on out I hope Floyd keeps feeling like Dangermouse and picking on guys who are true legitimate threats like Mosley was. That's the only way we can see the best of what he has to offer.
If Floyd chose to fight any other fighter than Shane at that time, it would have been a joke, because Shane was the best welterweight outthere.
