Agreed, John will win on points if he can avoid the power, and I think he can at this point, Gamboa has no chance to win on points in my opinion, John by points likely, Gamboa by KO less likely.

Gamboa vs John = True Featherweight Champion.

Gamboa vs JMLopez = Best fight at Featherweight (While it last.)

Why don't you think Gamboa vs. John would be the better fight? :huh

John vs. Yordan was a better fight than Lopez vs. Salido. :deal

Gamboa had his troubling moments last year vs. Barros and Salido, but learned from it as we saw vs Solis, I doubt he's getting KO'd this year no matter who he faces. Of course Gonzalez can knock ANY FW out, but I'd pick Yuri to get to Jhonny first. If he has to lose, I'd rather pick John to outslick him for the decision.

Much have been said about Gamboa's defense, he still gets wild here and there and there's a room for the left hook, but you very rarely see him getting hit by conscutive shots. He uses upper body & head movement, footwork, clinching and accurate flurries when hurt, he's a much more advanced survivor than Lopez, who freezes and goes sloppy punching leaving every angle open.

You need to refresh your memory mate , Salido DID NOT koed Gamboa , all he did was pushing him off balance with that weak punch , if you see Gamboa's face after the " punch " , he was smiling , he wasn't hurt at all , he couldn't believe that corrupted ref ( Joe Cortez ) was giving him an a count , that's ALL Salido did in that fight , Gamboa KD twice and the last one could have been permanent ( KO ) if it wasn't for Gamboa's antics , so there you go , that's the fight in a nutshell , all Purto Ricans ( and some Mexicans ) do is talk about Salido giving Gamboa a difficult fight , etc , after you watch Lopez/Salido , Gamboa/Salido looks like a stroll in the park . About John and Gonzalez they will recieve the same medicina ( anestecia ) when they meet Gamboa and Gamboa/Salido 2 is a forgone conclution . GAMBOA IS THE # 1 F.W IN THE WORLD . Peace .

Totally agree, Gamboa rarely gets hit consecutive as he is always moving. That's what makes a great boxer and Gamboa can box and box great whenever he wants or is in somewhat trouble. Lopez on the other hand, can't dodge, move and gets hit too easy! A lot of people have it right, Gamboa is a combination of Roy Jones, ( quick reflexes, athleticism and defence ) combined with Mike Tyson, ( raw power with devastating speed ). But Gamboa also has something that neither Jones nor Tyson had, one of the best amateur careers of all times ! :hey

Salido will beat Lopez again, and Gamboa should fight him again to take his WBO and he will. Pretty soon Gamboa will be the WBA-WBO ruler, just wait .

    :good
