Hatton is going to use his jab more and with Mayweather training him now ... he's going to pick off alot more shots ... he showed that in his fight against Malignaggi ... his jab is getting sharper --

Hatton will prove why he's the 140 lb champion -- not an alphabet soup champion but "the" champion.

Mayweather teaches his fighters how to catch punches, pick off punches, cut his opponents punches short --

even Ngoudjo rocked Paulie with a right hand counter. It doesn't take a counterpuncher to counter Malignaggi

    Speed can be neutralized ...

effective boxing can neutralize anything ... a good jab can disrupt any fighters fight plan and open up alot of things during a fight.

Hatton will win -- possibly by stoppage ... If Hatton does what he did to Tszyu to Pac ... then i'm sure that Pac gives in.

    NO WAY.

A jab is indeed there for that purpose.

But to compare that KT to Pac man is just insane.

Pac has VERY fast speed of foot and is able to move out of range laterally and get very low with his pivots to get him out of traps.

Hatton can box a bit, but what the hell is Mayweather really going to bring to Hatton in 2 fights? Will Hatton change his spots THAT much?

IMO - When he first hooked up with Oscar, his defensive techniques detracted from Oscar's overall offensive arsenal - Particulalry the right hand.

Ricky has NEVER fought as a defensive stylist who picks off shots and delivers sharp counters in a consistant fashion. If Hatton starts waiting for Manny, then Manny feints him and gets in and out doing enough work to offset Hatton and steal rounds.

Further compounding the issue is how not only Hatton's new jab is going to deal with Manny's speed, but his southpaw style and the angles it affords Pac. I don't think Ricky's straight right has ever been a thing of serious intention and if he's trying to adopt shoulder roll it's only going to lessen the effect of the right.

Left hooks are a great punch for orthodox fighters to catch southpaws coming in and Hatton has an underrated hook - Beyond jabs, I would hope from a strategy point of view that Snr is working on shortening Hatton's hook and delivering it up and downstairs with speed and authority.

I think the Billy Graham fat man suit started making Hatton punch wider than he should have been practicing and may have developed himself a bad habit.

I'm pretty up on most of Hatton's fights - Without going to boxrec - I wonder how many quality southpaws he has fought and how he dealt with them - I mean obivously he won - But did they present certain style problems?

Hatton will make this fight exciting along with Pac...When the fight first starts than maybe he's thinking defense...eventually Hatton will start coming forward in a line-ESPECIALLY IF HE FALLS BEHIND ON THE CARDS WHICH I THINK HE WILL!

Then he will be koed. Guaranteed.
But, im expecting a Punch & hugging Hatton style which will make the fight difficult for Pacman.

Floyd Sr while being a very good defencive fighter is an offencive trainer. and while being a good offencive fighter Roger is a defencive trainer.

    Hatton CANNOT box against Pac.

I know it sounds stupid but he should go back a step....in order to beat Pacman he will need to do what he did against Tszyu, walk through everything.

Unfortunately he is too shopworn to do so, and I think Pac will stop him on cuts.

There's alot of counterpunching in what Hatton already does, but it's more the sort where he tries to catch his opponents while they're more vulnerable moving away. When they punch that's when he collapses.

If Hatton tried to go straight ahead and counter Pacquiao planted, or coming forward, Manny would land his punches and be standing 5 feet away before Hatton could react in way too many situations for that to be advisable.
