What if Hopkins never lost to Talyor?

What if Hopkins never lost to Taylor? How long would he have made it? I think one thing we can assume is that Winky Wright would still have fought him, except this time for the Middleweight belt. In my opinion, Hopkins still would have beaten him.
I think that Hopkins Calzaghe would still have happened as well, and sad as I am to admit this (being a big Hopkins fan), I think Calzaghe would have beaten him there too.

Would he have fought Taylor's opponents? I think he would have beaten them, especially Pavlik. I think had Hopkins not lost to Taylor, he could still be Middleweight Champ today, and have tacked on another 5-7 defenses.

Or, he might have gone after Light Heavy anyway.

    What do you all think?

Why do you think Hopkins beats Winky at 160 when he could hardly beat a crispy cream Winky at 170?

Winky would beat him imo and that would have been that, onwards and upwards for Hopkins.

Yeah, I think Winky beats Hopkins at 160. I still think Hopkins ends up at 175, but maybe not as soon as he originally did.

if BHOP was younger I could see him decisively beating JT. Bernard's age and Taylor's workrate, youth, size and power decided the fight. Joe and JT outworked Hopkins, neither fighter outclassed the aged legend.

He would have retired, imo. The original plan was to beat Taylor then have his easy farewell fight - Bhop said it wouldn't have been a big name - just before his 40th, to keep his promise to his mother.

The problem was that the losses ate away at him, so Bhop had to prove himself again, which he did with that excellent performance vs Tarver. Then, he'd already broken the promise, so why not continue? He might have stopped after the Calzaghe fight imo, but he very deservedly lost because he underestimated the Welshman thinking that throwing a few shots a round but getting a decent connection percentage was the same as controlling a fight action. i honestly think that the way he behaved with the 'low blow', such as it was, cost him some respect.... and that's why he came back more or less at his best vs Pavlik.

and now the world sees he's that good at 43 years old, I wouldn't bet against him fighting for two or so more years, constantly chasing Calzaghe to avenge a defeat for which he probably only has himself to blame...

a prime b-hop beats winky at 160 but i think at that point winky would have got him...im not saying the fights with taylor and calzaghe were robberies as they were very close fights but its a shame that not one went his way when he has an argument for winning all 3

Hopkins losing to Taylor is probably the best thing to happen for Hopkins' legacy. Other he would stayed at 160 and fight Robert Allen for the 7th time.
