What if investors bought out all the organizations, WBA, WBC, WBO, IBF, and all the promoters, Top Rank, Goldenboy, PBC, Main Events, and every promoter and put everything under one banner, much like the NFL, NBA. Would it be feasible? Would it make it better for the fan's? One promoter, making the best fights without the bickering of rival orgainzations, and promoters.

I think so too, but it's something that is being thrown around to fix boxing

I'd say it was unlikely rather than stupid. One org and a proper ranking system with regularly arranged fights by region wherein the route of progression makes sense would be great. It just isn't going to happen.

Would it be worth the investment? I doubt so.

Obviously it would. Boxing is the last of the major sports to sill be stuck in the dark ages. Look at the other high impact sports like the NFL, they have a players union that invests in keeping their players from going poor, keep their healthcare high, etc. Boxing has jack. Its stuck in the dark ages, rampant corruption, uneven playing fields, inconsistent pay scales, etc are the norm.

Problem is you'd have too many big egos figuring it's more profitable to go it themselves than enter a power structure that might end up lessening their own control/earnings potential.

If it could be done, it'd be huge, but it's tough to get everyone together in a Stag Hunt game once they've decided going it alone is most fruitful.

That is the biggest thing holding back the single sanctioning body, GREED. Greed from boxers, promoters, state commissions, etc at the expense of the boxers and the fans. Promoters are not going to go for this. Nevada likes their stranglehold on boxing as it is. Boxers like Fluid and Pac, like their position. Why would they change?

****, even pro bowlers have an association for christsake!

Thats a lot of work and a big "what if". Investors would have to literally cut one money stream after another and that´s insane. They would initally lose over 3/4 of their revenue.
    A big gamble.
But unifications are big fights, and to be able to force them is a good thing. There would be some big fights.

It's stupid because what you are describing is called, a monopoly.
This is good for communist Russia, but quite un-american.
Monopolies are sort after by wimps who are so incompetent, they are afraid of competition.

Yea it's a lot of work, but for the good of the sport and the actual boxers I would have thought all fans would want it. Who wants to see more boxers end up homeless and penniless with no lifeline? I don't care about investors, it's not really about the investors. Imo, it's more about boxing getting its collective **** together, getting a players union, a unified sanctioning body, and joining the 21st century.

And that requires investors, if one is to buy up all the big ABC´s.
