Jones did it in 2003 and won the HW title. If Joe Calzaghe wants to cement his place in boxing history, he should move up to HW. The opponent? None other that Wladimir Klitschko! Who wins this fight assuming Joe came in at 215-220?

Please, Joe's slappy punches wouldnt even get the attention of Wlad, he barely can hurt a light heavy. His greatest asset will be his speed, which will diminish once he gains that much weight. Joe likes to fight relatively close, and that would spell doom for him if he fights a decent heavy

I would not be suprised if Calzaghe retired and announced a year later that he was coming out of retirement to fight at heavyweight. His opponent?

None other than 3 time Heavweight Champion, the legendary Evander Holyfield!

I'm telling you, don't be shocked if something like this happens.

Lol no heavyweight would even be able to hit him,
Calzaghe would make all heavyweights look like 50year old amateurs.
Calzaghe already has a place in the HOF.
He has nothing left to prove.
Calzaghe can hit, He just used his speed advantage against roy to win a easy decision.

Th funny thing is this fight would seem more realistic than Pacman/DLH.

His style is all wrong against a heavyweight.
Joe likes to stay in front of guys and slap them all night. Joe has no defense other than throwing a bunch of punches to outwork the other guy.
Against a heavyweight, hell just get knocked down. You get knocked down enough and the ref will stop the fight.

He'd need to use more of a stick and move strategy. He might be able to do it, but that's not his strong suit.

I hope Joe doesnt retire. Yes he has proved a lot (beating Kessler was a GREAT achievement in my book) but I would like to see him against the likes of Chad Dawson

Calzaghe would storm the division, winning by brutal KO after brutal KO, until there would be no opponents left to conquer, at which time he would retire as the greatest fighter of all time.

He would get sparked like a fire*******....The heavyweight in the ring with would have a good laugh at the first punch he lands flush on him !

If Joe hit Wlad flush with his best punch, what would happen?

Joe does not have the power to keep heavyweights off of him. Jones only beat Ruiz as his power had Ruiz wary of coming in. Calzaghe does not have that power. He would not be able to back heavyweights up and flurry, they would walk through his punches. Calzaghe could not succeed at heavyweight, no way.
