Paulie is incredibly durable - he took a truckload of punishment off Hatton and Cotto - is a slick fighter, has a lot of experience at high-level, and is pretty fast himself.

In fact i'd say his combination punching is faster than Khans, and his one shot speed isn't vastly lower than Amir's too.

It'd be a tricky fight for Khan; his chin truly is dire to be fair, and Paulie rocked Diaz in their last fight so I think if he landed shots like that he'd at least get Khans respect.

Especially if we factor in that over-the-hill, semi-retired C-class fighters, who lacked power in the first place and were dwarved by Khan, have decked him.

Khan's never even fought one fighter of this description let alone 'fighters' of this description.
He's faced 'over the hill' fighters (Barrera, Gomez & Earl).
He's faced c class fighters (which was acceptable considering his inexperience at the time).
He's faced numerous fighters who've lacked power. In fact it would be easier to list the fighters he faced who've carried respectable power: Prescott (limited)
    Barrera (past his best/naturally smaller)
    Gomez (past his best/naturally smaller)
He faced numerous fighters who he has 'dwarved' (St. Clair, Barrera, Gomez, Earl, ***an etc etc
But I can't think of any fighters he's faced who are 'semi-retired'. Wouldn't even class Barrera as such.
And more importantly he's never faced a fighter, or even been decked, by a fighter who is all the above mentioned things.
So if you're going to attempt to ridicule him, at least keep it factual. Otherwise you might appear bitter, unobjective and a little lacking in knowledge.

you bring up the fact that khan was naturally bigger at the weight a lot in your post (which is a very legit point), but khan was drained at the weight and whilst he carried power and speed, he lacked any core strength:good

And this is what I hate about "experts" They overanalyze everything and don't realize anything can happen. It might sound silly to you when someone says it will happen. But it sounds much sillier when you say it can't happen.:good

I'm not sure how badly Khan was affected by having to make weight.
Many had commented numerous time how it was amazing that he could get his 'welterweight frame' down to 135, & hopefully his punch resistance will improve dramatically. But as yet i'm unconvinced. Like everybody else I await to see his reaction when he's tagged by somebody who can really dig at 140lb.

Hahaa, I would tell Khan to retire if he did! But I would have to say - It's 99.9% Impossible. Barrera hit him clean a few times - nothing happened. Kotelnik hit him - and nothing happened.

That would be a disaster for khan, hatton dominated paulie so the pressure is on khan to at least do this and probably stop him

it wouldn't be the end of his career, but he'd have to start all over again.

I doubt it, but if khan decides to go back to his old style, which was stricly offense, offense, offense....He might just walk into one, just like diaz did.....Keep in mind, Paulie's hands are the healthiest they have been in years....and it's starting to show...he was a one handed fighter in '08....then in the first diaz fight he didnt use his right hand enough, and then in the second fight with diaz he used it...

If khan wins this fight it is because he either bully'd paulie(which is not khan's style) or he takes malignaggi's ring generalship away....I think Khan will give away early rounds because malignaggi's movement will baffle him...then khan might or might not adjust.....

It would be a wall poster material if you see Paulie standing over the corpse of khan:lol:...Instant classic:rofl

I think Khan's chin will be a little tougher at 140 than it was at 135.

Its a hard question to answer though as some fighters who get knocked out are never the same fighter ever again, they have something taken from them when they get knocked out, others can get knocked out numerous times but still keep coming again for what ever reason.

    the truth is ......

paulie is a bad choice for khan
what would it prove for amir if he won or lost against paulie
if he won people would say paulies shot, he's not a puncher
    khan is cherrypicking !
if he lost to paulie he would look really bad
paulie is too tricky and experienced for amir he has a granite chin great
head movement and since training with sheriff has got his footwork back
paulie went toe to toe with cotto with a broken eye socket and miguel couldnt knock him out !
hatton thru his full arsenal at paulie when paulie wasnt even fighting back
and ricky could knock him out or even down !!!!!!

khan will be matched up with slow plodding ageing light counter punchers
who he can box around all night ....PERIOD

    JMM ....as above
J.Diaz .... too small , good name for resume , wobbled by paulie :-(
