Stevenson has very little chance of KO'ing Kovalev. Kovalev would destroy him rapidly. If it went into later rounds, Stevenson "might" win by decision. But that is the least likely outcome.

solid fundamentals and basic skills will carry you much further. bhop is a testament to that.

floyd has solid fundamentals. bhop has solid fundamentals. they use reflex and timing....but where reflex and timing fail as they progress...they have the basics down to carry them further.

a guy like roy jones was all reflex and very little of what he did was based in the fundamentals of boxing. same with ali. as their careers progressed and their physical attributes failed them...they didn't have the fundamentals to carry them forward.

 

willie pep hand great legs and relied primarily on his movement for defense. he was great at using his foot positioning to take him out of harms way. his fundamentals were decent as well.

whitaker used great footwork and amazing head movement to avoid punches. as he aged..he had fundamentals to fall back on but was never really put in a position where his defensive wizardry failed him. an amazing talent who did things very unconventionally defensively speaking.

 

Kovalev has not been tested. He got floored with headgear on. So that means he has a glass jaw waiting to be exposed.
