He'd have to be respected as a p4p fighter by even his biggest detractors. Ward is a great talent, even if he's reluctant to prove it. I'd imagine we'd start getting peddled a myth that Ward is tiny in comparison though. It's funny how desperate Ward fans are to hold GGG to account to Sanchez's boasts about moving up in weight whilst ignoring Andre's comments about winning titles at heavyweight.
Completely agree. I don't think Kovalev has all that many detractors to be honest. He's pretty much proven his mettle.
Honestly, I just hope Ward actually faces some good opponents before Kovalev. I don't want to see any excuses if Kovalev does win.
It'd be viewed as a mismatch and only worthy of talking about due to name value, maybe? You'd have to give Kovalev a ton of credit and rank him highly P4P because of Ward's previous P4P status.
