Luis Rodriguez has a tremendous career resume...how would it have played out if he had traveled Ray Leonard's career path? Who do you think would have beaten him?:think

Did you read the thread topic?

    Well, I did.

Rodriguez would probably earn a razor thin decision against Benitez.

He would lose to Montreal Duran in a close 15 rounder and then reverse it in a close 15 rounds win against New Orleans Duran.

He'd lose somewhat lopsidedly to Hearns at welterweight, but he'd scare him couple of times along the way. Rematch would probably end in a draw.

Rodriguez would probably be leading against Hagler but would get knocked out around the tenth round I feel.

Assuming he's in good shape, he'd probably edge Terry Norris, but if he's shot, Norris would take him out.

exactly, i mean how are napoles, griffith and gavilan gonna beat him. I think he would handle all 3.

His 2nd and 3rd fights with Griffith would be a good starting place JT, before moving on to look at some Rodriguez outside his comfort zone (e.g. his fight with Nino Benvenuti). Whilst I think quite a few welterweights could beat him, he'd be a hard proposition for just about anyone.

Whilst I'd make Hearns favourite over all of them, I wouldn't discount the chances of these guys. They all had great chins, and could all brawl well. It's hard to envision them getting past the Heanrs bombs to really put enough pressure on him to take him out, but someone like Gavilan, who was pretty damn fast himself, and had a bit of height and reach to compete, might be the best chance.

Well, i see hearns outboxing them and combined with the fact that he hits harder and is bigger, he would stop emile IMO.

As long as Hearns is being lauded it's always a good post, isn't it?
