who ever thinks Bazooka Gomez was just a Brawler needs to go as back at boxing as in the 50's 60's 70's and 80's and study pretty well man, Bazooka gomez went to panama to master his footwork, he was increadibly talented in reflexes one of the fighters to demonstrate the best hit and dont be hit beautifly, come on the guy treated his reflexes by having a rubber bouncing ball thrown at his head really fast from a range of about 7-8 feet from him standing in front of a wall and would have to use head movement to dodge it, the guy destroyed the most brutal mexican Ko artist of possibly all time Carlos Zarate, and 16 of the 32 consecutive Ko's were against international superstars with increadible talent, it was like defeating 16 mayweathers or 16 pacquiaos.. especially in the 80's everyone had heart, everyone was hungry, you had to fight your heart out because if you didnt a guy with 10 wins 0 by ko and 20 losses would put you on your ass if you didnt fight your ass off, the 80's were the 80's man, there wasnt this taking a knee, staying in the corner, referee stoppage early type of crap that goes on today its like as time goes by the human body takes less and less punishment, they dont make as many warriors as they used to in old days, but to the gomez subject, gomez downfall was his fame, unlike pacquiao and fighters like cotto that were raised in working class famillies thay have been able to be smart with their earnings till now, well gomez though he was a god when clearly their is only one upstairs and so became using drugs having sex drinking alcohol and barely training, by the ruben valdez fight you could see wilfredo having to land more and more to Ko people, and most importantly you would see him get hit more which was something odd to see when you would see wilfredo fight, but thats on him, i take nothing away from sanchez talent and win. well gomez had good hand speed, amazing foot work, amazing reflexes and head movement, prooved to have a good chin while he conditioned himself well, and the most effective shattering right hand ive ever saw, the way he meassured it and when you see him meassure you'd know he was going for the kill slowly, and boom you've see him land it, and see the opponent go down like trees, i put him with ray robinsons and marcianos right, and the rings magazine puts him 13 greatest puncher of all time out of 100...

id say other than 122lb pacquiao wins, gomez couldn't make weight in either weights as well, not the same skills , reflexes, power so i go for pacquiao at those higher weights...

as for the 122lb division i see a war, gomez caught with the left and right and stepping up his movement making manny miss at times with both hands and catching him with his effective check left hook, i see them trading and pacquiao missing more for the most part but rocking gomez a few times, gomez responding with his 6-7 body punch combos and his 1-2 straight - left upper cut - big right he was famous for, ultimately both fighters exhausted at the end gomez body work paying off, pacquiao slipping to the ropes and gomez jumping on him and measuring with the right while bombing with the left hooks and uppercuts, then Boom!! right hand right on the money and leaves pacquiao sitting for the night......

thats my opinion and i have alot of years of watching fights in all eras and studying all styles and i love both pacquiao and gomez so i dont want pac's delusional fans making him out to be this much bigger thing next to gomez, because with the Great Bazooka Gomez he comes up short in the 122lb division...

who the hell did pacman fight at 122? Not Zarate and not Pintor. Morales and Gomez are considered the best at 122 of all time and Pacman lost to a past his prime Morales at 130. Gomez was a bigger puncher than Manny at 122 Gomez is no lelo ledwaba.:yep

yea but its useless to say it anyway, pac's fans are going to be indenial about this, no one can't compare the 80's, gomez right, boxing abilities, ability to hit and not get hit, to pacquiaos style even today, pacquiao really doesn't use any different style!!! only thing he's develop is to jump in and out faster and power (at the higher weight)... which is still suspicious and attenttion pulling for the roid subject, i like manny alot especially for him being humble, but his fans make him bad and give him a bad image, just like salvador sanchez fans give him a bad name when they trash talk sanchez opponents instead of respecting sanchez and the other warriors that were in these golden warrior eras ......
