He got his career high payday at the time fight Baldomir ... he got PPV revenue + gate + a 8,000,001

He wouldn't have gotten any of that fighting Margarito ... who has he beat other than Cotto by the way?

All you fair wheather fans ... once he loses again (like he did against Williams) you guys will be right back off of his bandwagon.

To be fair, this would've taken place after Floyd had fought once at 147. If you remember, Floyd tried to make a fight with Winky at 154 when he was at 140. Also, Floyd tried to fight Spinks at 154 on that same date that he fight Baldo. Floyd was focused on De La Hoya. It's not a big stretch to think he would've went after Mosley instead of fighting or Margo, or went up to 154 to fight Spinks or Wright.

Why would FLoyd had skipped welter, when there was more money in the division than at 154?

If Margarito some how became the undisputed champion/linear champion of the division, then i'm sure PBF wouldve fought him and beat him.

Thought the spinks fight was for 147. I remember the wright situation but I never believe that was coming off in the first place

The thing to consider is, if Margarito had beaten Judah, Margarito would have become the linear champion. He would have been the legit WW champion. That would have forced Mayweather to either RETURN at JWW and clean it up (where he eventually would have encountered Cotto and Hatton), fight Margarito, or retire at 27.

Which would it have been? Would he have really gone up to 147 and fought Sharmba Mitchell only to go back down just because Margarito beat Judah? Could he have gotten away with something like that? What could he have possibly said to explain away fighting SHARMBA MITCHELL and then refusing to actually fight for the linear and ring title?

Spinks was the IBF champ at 154 when that fight was being discussed. Spinks couldn't even make 147 anymore.

To be perfectly honest, if Margo was Judah's mando, I doubt Floyd would've never moved up to 147. He only went to 147 to make the fight with Judah. If Margo was in line to fight Judah, I'm guessing he would've assumed that Judah had a good chance of losing, and would've stayed at 140 or tried to make a big fight with Mosley, Wright, or even Spinks.

So you think Mayweather holds Margarito in high enough regard and knew enough about his abilities where he would have thought that Margarito would beat Judah and therefore Mayweather would never move up to 147, specifically to avoid Margarito? Is this because you believe Mayweather is afraid of Margarito? He did fight Baldomir for the linear title despite Baldomir not being a big name, so presumably if it were anything but fear, there's no reason why Mayweater would be willing to fight Baldo but not Margarito. They were equally obscure at the time.

If Margo would have been Zab's mandatory he wouldn't have moved up? Please! He would have moved up to face Zab regardless of his mandatory also No one knew who Margo was back then and he wouldn't have been favored over Zab either. Margo beating Zab back then would have been seen as a huge upset. PBF moved up for the $$$ Zab and Oscar he knew he wasn't going to get big money at 140 with Hatton declining.

Not to mention nothing in PBF's history suggest he wouldn;t have fought Margo if he was linear when he's always gone after linear champs in every divison he's been in. 130 Hernandez, 135 JLC, 140 Hatton but he declined 147 Zab but he lost so he fought Baldo instead. 154 no linear champ so he fought Oscar.

Why's that? Was Margarito going to demand a 50/50 split? I doubt it. Floyd would have made more facing Margarito because the difference between Goosen's and Arum's offer was literally a single dollar, and in order for him to fight Baldomir, Floyd had to but out his contract with Top Rank for $750,000.

Not only that, but Mayweather-Margarito would have done more buys on PPV than the Baldomir fight. Many hardcore fans passed on it, knowing it was a mismatch. But I'm sure no one would have had a problem paying to see Mayweather-Margarito. I mean ****, Cotto-Margarito did nearly a half million buys. That fight probably would have done similar numbers, which means more PPV revenue for Floyd.

Doubt it. He was twisting his words when they talked about Margarito.
