What if Margarito has beaten Judah instead of Baldomir?

Floyd vs Zab was kind of personal. They had a score to settle. Floyd moved up kind of fast to make that fight. Judah ****ed it all up being inconsistent. Do I think Floyd would of fought Margo if need be..meaning it would be a way to big money fights like ODH and Hatton..yes. But would he just fight him as a tune up...**** no. Margo is better than a tune up. When Floyd moved to 147 he never claimed to be the best welter...or when he fought ODH for a belt at 154 he never claimed to be the best 154 pound fighter. He just claimed to be the best all around fighter. I seriously doubt Floyd planned on mixing it up at the higher weights for a long time. Floyd is not as big in any way shape or form as the rest of the welters like Clottey, Cintron, Margo, Quintana, Collazo etc etc. **** even Baldomir, Floyd felt his size and strength difference in that fight although he won clearly. That dont mean he didnt feel like the other dude outweighed him by 12 pounds. I never expected Floyd to clear out the welters. He already has been a champion and beat top comp in his more active divisions. Also, he had a change in mentality about he sport after the Gatti fight. Gatti was his easiest fight and he got paid more then majority of his fights put together as well as got on ppv for beating a named quasi bum. That makes you think, I beat easier guys for more money?? I mean this is money we are talking about.

Great post. The highlighted part pretty much sums up how I feel on the issue.

I'm not getting out of a man's bandwagon who gives it all in the ring. WIn or lose.

    You failed.

Margarito has a better resume at 147 than Floyd Mayweather Jr. Do your research.

I agree with you too a point , I think even in a winning efferent against margarito he going to look bad , a mix between the Baldi fight and the castillio . It would be a fight that could hang over him much like the first castillio fight.
    if that makes since .

I also think if the money is right he will fight just about anyone .

but there were other choices that lead to bigger pay days, also you have to remember the Margarito fight was part of a three fight deal .

Remember, though. This wouldn't be about the money in this case. When Mayweather fights, it's said, it's usually only for one of two things - the money and/or the linear title. If Margarito had the linear title because he was Judah's mandatory and beat him (which, as someone pointed out, would have been considered an upset at the time), and Mayweather was ALREADY a welterweight by then, having beaten Mitchell, are people saying that Mayweather would have campaigned as a welterweight in a division with NO big names AND never attempted to win the linear title?

Remember, before Mayweather came, welterweight was devoid of big names. Judah was the biggest name there. DLH was jr. middle, Cotto and Hatton were jr. welter, and Williams, Margo and Clottey were all unknowns. What big fights could Mayweather have gotten there when there were bigger fights to be made in his previous division? It seems that Mayweather's only purpose in moving up in weight was to win the linear title since the best fights at the time were lower. So if Margo was linear champ - what would Mayweather have done? Would he have honestly campaigned at a weight without trying for the linear and ring titles?

As PBF was moving through the various weight classes, if he didn't find Cassamayor or Freitas or Tszyu, I doubt he would have fought Margo.

Were they linear/ring champs at the time Floyd fought at that weight?

Margo had 5 what's the difference? Not to mention he meant nothing at that point he wasn't the linear champion or even a big name. Nobody gave a **** about Margo back then.:deal PBF still offered to fight him on short notice but he choose Gomez instead. Margo built his whole career on PBF's name. What a ****ing *****.

HAHAHA oh no you did it now... Margo was the happiest man alive when floyd wouldn't fight him, the minute floyd wanted to fight him then margo suddenly had all the excuses not too.. he didn't actually want to fight floyd he just wanted to make people think that he did
