If both lose? Hysterically funny. All the suits destroying the sport would cry like babies. More entertaining than a Floyd v Pac fight itself.

Intrest in their bout will diminish.

No, if they both lose then Boxing will need a major re-shuffle.

We don't have emerging PPV stars, not on the level of Mayweather, Pacquaio, or De La Hoya and guys like Jones and Mosley before them, we're stuck.

Khan, Bradley, Rios, Canelo, Chavez, how many do you think could step into the role of Megastar, fight and dominate the best possible opponent?

Andre Ward has the skills, but a style that doesn't appeal to the casual fans, Cotto is closer to the end of the road than the start, Hopkins and Marquez don't have long left etc.

Boxing thrives in europe, but in the USA were the major money and TV networks are (E.G the major exposure) there's a real lack of emerging stars, and something has to change.

We need Pac and May to dominate for a little while yet.

Mayweather and Pacquiao fighting on for a few more years won't change that though. HBO's subscription base has declined over the last few years as the disposable income of a lot of people has went down. It's not a coincidence that boxing ratings on HBO have decreased as the number of subscribers has decreased. In short - less people are watching boxing on HBO than there were when Pacquiao and Mayweather were fighting on HBO TV.

Chavez, Jr and Alvarez have as good a chance as anyone right now, based on their Mexican followings. Having said that not many would have predicted Pacquiao becoming the star he is now not that long ago, or that Mayweather would have become the star he is now back when he was a 135lbs fighter. You never know who is going to break out and capture folks' attention.

Yeah it would be better or boxing. Maybe they'd take a hit to their ego and finally face eachother.

In Martinez' defense, he's 36 and wants to make some big money before he's out of the sport.
