You're right, my friend. Mayweather said at the time that the fight was a waste of time - and it would have been. IMO Pacman beats Hatton (probably by late stoppage) and then we have the table set for PBF's return against Manny for P4P supremacy. That fight holds 10x the intrigue that any encounter with Margarito ever could. :yep The worst part for Margo is not even that hellacious beating he took from an aging Mosley - it is the bullshyte over the loaded hand wraps. He will never be seen in the same light again. Fighters can persevere and come back from beatdowns, but now people will question the entirety of Tony's career, and his complete lack of ethics. I don't see any way to fix that dilemma.
Been great Boogieman. :yep Two little tikes in tow has left me short on time. Bet some on this forum were wishing I had fallen off a cliff.
I feel you, kids are great but time consuming like crazy! Good times! Its good to have you back on the boards.
Welcome back Radar. If Floyd WOULD have been able to totally outclasse Margo,he has cheated himself and his fans; ie; Easy payday, silences his critics and gives you guys an eternity of gloating and bragging rights. He didnt though;Shane did. You guys want this win by proxy, piggybacking Shane's guts and skill. Shane walks into the lair of the beast, comes out victorious and you guys glibly tell us what Big,bad, brave Floyd would have done. Thats way to easy and spineless. How about he actually does it literally instead of in fiction?
same thing Mayweather would box and move and jab to margarito mid section. And counter rights all day
He should have just done it. Whats the point in pro boxing and pro fighters if fans simply decide what would happen in a bout, and that closes the case?
Underestimated? Margarito is not the type to underestimate anyone. It took a lot of hard work to even get to where hes at so if you want to say he took him lightly. THen you my friend are a nuthugger. Margarito obviously trained hard if he weighed in at 145
Underestimating somebody can be done in a subtle, insidious manner. It isnt always a sign of unprofessionalism;its human nature to have greater and lesser focus depending on how formidable you view the opponent. It can be subconscious. Being in shape and trained doesnt necessarily mean you are ready for a serious war and clinic from a guy who looked past it in prior fights. You my friend are a hater(anybody can fire off the cliches when they disagree with somebody)
I'm not a hater. You are the one trying to take credit away from Mosley by saying he didn't get the best Margarito. You might have a case if say Margarito fought Baldomir and looked like crap. He could have easily overlooked a Baldomir but you don't overlook Mosley.
