Um yes, no way in hell an old, out of shape Lewis that fought Vitali would not have got stopped by 96 holyfield, really 2 different classes.

6'8 Vitali would destroy a 1985-2005 Tyson and make him into a mental midget. This is a hella bad match up for Tyson at any stage of his career. Vitali would be worse for Tyson than James Douglas because Vitali is a lot smarter and a warrior. A top #5 ATG in my opinion. :deal

Vitali is, by far, the wrong style for Tyson. Vitali would have knocked Tyson out!

Inertresting question but Idont exactly see it the way most of you guys do but.....
IMO tyson in his prime 1988 would have eaten a prime Vitali alive due to the following
    1. Speed
    2. Combinaton punching
    3. Defense
    4. Agressiveness rds 1-5
    5. Durability

Please remember most of Tysons opponents were taller, heavier, with more of a reach advantage than Tyson.
Dont judge Mike skills after three year prison sentence remember when he lost to douglas it was one of the biggest upsets in sports history.

BTW Holyfield never beat a prime tyson they were supposed to fight before he did the prison strech. Seriously doubt he would have beaten him then.

Tyson never fought a fighter like Vitali in his prime. It would have gone something like Tyson/Lewis fight. Vitali has a granite chin, tons of stamina, great defense, throws lots of punches, uses his height and reach, too much for any Tyson.

I can see your point but lets be honest did lewis fight a prime tyson? You know the one that Frank Bruno, Trevor Berbick and Donovan Ruddock fought

I like Vitaly and unlike you have actually talked to him face to face with no entourage around a few weeks before the Lewis fight at Gold's in Venice..........Tyson UD, he would slip that jab and work the body overtime, Vitaly has a rather poor uppercut, does not really clinch and likes to keep things at range but like in the Lewis fight when you press him upclose and is forced to slug his skills don't shine so much anymore. Tyson has extremly fast hands for a hwt and throws every punch in the book textbook style and carried dynamite in both fists.

Plus lets not get into the Byrd debacle.............while he was winning the fight handily he certainly was not in any way shape or form to knock out the featherfisted Byrd ......

Anyway, Tyson has to take the fight serious like the Holmes or Spinks bouts, he can't **** around with hookers and booze but besides that Tyson UD.

BTW, Tucker, Boneclutcher, Biggs ,Ruddock etc etc were all 6.5 and up and did not pose any significant problems because Tyson always fought bigger guys and was specificlly groomed for it.

No he would not. Tyson would get knocked out.

Vitali was scheduled to fight Razor, but Razor pulled out because of an injury. This is not a joke.

too bad Holyfield that beat Tyson is better than anyone on vitalis record period. vitali is so "powerful" that he jabs his opponents into quitting after 10 rounds....whens the last time he fought someone worth a **** and knocked them out early? Vitali had his ass handed to him by an old Lewis in his prime..Tyson would have beat him to death.....Vitali gives new meaning to the word "OVERRATED" . everything you dummies base opinion on is after Tysons 38-0 record, 8 or 9 world title fights, 100 million dollars, no hunger, screwed up head with ex wives, managers, trainers, and all at the age of 23. Tyson was a wrecking machine before he got too rich too quick. Watch Tyson-Lewis all you want and base your opinions on that. Vitali will never be mentioned in the same breath as Tyson in the greatness dept. FACT.
