I'm just saying, the fight was a bit of an anomaly in that its the only fight in recent memory that I've seen where he had endless energy and didn't seem to be shy about throwing. In his previous fight against Mayorga, he looked like crap and he's looked like crap since...
He didn't look that bad against Mayorga. It just took him longer than it should have. He fought Cotto to a close decision and gave Collazo a one-sided beating. Mora was just a bad style for him and Floyd is Floyd.
I always kinda wondered too, when he fought Flloyd he didnt look the same physically and his stamina and speed seemed to go overnight. Mosleys body just looks soft lately. Maybe it's age or lack of commitment in training. Who knows.
It's a possibility. Not like we'll ever know for certain either way now unless it turns out he was back working with Conte or another dealer with loose lips and he gets rolled over on again lol.
It would be highly interesting to see what sort of shape shane would be in and what level of stamina he would show if the Pac v Mosley fight came off. Without random testing, I wonder would we see the same shane that tore margarito apart
How fishy would it look if this happened? I think pulling a performance like this out of the blue would hurt him.
I doubt it, you get caught once then your reputation is tarnished forever and people will be forever suspicious. I hope I'm not getting confused with Mosley's fight with Cotto, but part of the pre-fight buildup with Margarito had HBO covering and interviewing Mosley about BALCO and PED's. Add to the fact the magnitude of the fight (they broke the record for attendence at Staples centre for any event), it would be very difficult to get away with something like that with that much attention on PED's
I don't think he's on it against Margarito. It is Mosley we knew, sometimes we see him lame on one fight and then the next we get surprise by his performance. I think everything depends on the style of Shane's opponent. Not only that Margo style fits to his but I think the defense is not good enough for Mosley's offense. Shane Mosley is naturally quick or fast, and can use it as advantage if he can. Floyd's usual performance ceases Mosley's style in their fight. Margarito, Mayorga or anyone who got owned by Mosley in a fight could just had a terrible defense or simply too slow to react Shane Mosley's fighting style.
I thought he looked fine against Mayorga...I also thought Mayorga was far more serious than I'd seen him in years, so I didn't find that strange at all. I thought Mosley looked fine in a great fight against undefeated Cotto...and in schooling Collazo, which undefeated Berto couldn't do. I also thing Margarito was not the best for that fight but he was built for Shane to excel against anyway. ...And that Mayweather and Mora are the exact styles that always would've made Mosley look bad.
The only reason I thought about this is that I heard he dropped his lawsuit against Conte, which seemed like a strange thing to do. That, and the fact that was the only fight in recent history where I remember him putting on solid pressure and throwing punches without gassing.
:deal He couldn't handle Mayweather and Mora's styles/speed. He will have problems with Manny as well due to Manny's speed.
I think switching to Nazim temporarily revitalized his abilities. More commitment to training, a better regiment, and a sharpening of technique. He moved his head more, sharpened his jab, and his guard was tighter in that fight. It's a shame it took a year for him to get another fight and had to have two training camps in a row for Mayweather after Berto pulled out. It's clear his body has just given out. I doubt after the controversy put his legacy in question he would risk resorting to that.
