How well does he do? Does he beat Backus, Cokes? I assume everyone would think he comes unstuck against Napoles. How well would he have done in that era at 147lbs?
I think he has an outside chance to become champion, sure. I think he'd lose quite comprehensively to Napoles (just an awful match-up for Locche imo, far too precise on offence and unlikely to get frustrated; he'd outwork and outland Locche), but Nicolino would absolutely beat Backus; and maybe Stracey. Potentially Cokes too, but I've only seen Cokes get pasted so idk. As a contender at 147, though, he'd have been a welcome addition if he left Argentina. He's pretty bad for Muniz, Lopez and a couple others of the aggressive types around then. I think Lewis beats him though; he's too tall and quick and without the Argentinan judges to back him up, I think he'd just steal too many rounds from Locche. He's a bug favourite over guys like Gray, Charles and Pruitt (who he might have actually beaten, I cba to check) A more interesting scenario imo, is it he'd have faced the greats at 140 and 135 without the questionable judging. Ortiz and Laguna especially, I've always wondered if they were actually legit or not.
