And couldn't KO Cotto or DLH with those same shots at welter. Maybe the weight helped him but Mosley just wasn't that on punch KO guy at welter, never was. Vargas was already on the way down, possibly shot and every top fighter not named Forrest KOed Mayorga with one shot

Wow, great posts everybody. I think as always Floyd will figure out Ortiz and dominate in the later rounds, but a good point that was brought up is that Ortiz has knocked down every opponent he has faced which says alot not just about his power but his ability to create openings and take advantage of them. One difference between Shane and Victor is that Victor is a way better finisher and uses a way better selection of shots once his opponent is hurt. Case in point, had Shane known how to throw an uppercut, he might have finished off Floyd in that crazy second round. And contrary to popular belief, I think because of Shane's STYLE (watch how much he puts his body into his punches with Margo, Mayorga and Floyd) he can hit harder than Victor, but I think Victor may have the naturally heavier hands.

That's a good point. Shane puts his entire body into his punches and even telegraphs it as he does it. It's just Margarito didn't have to skill to keep Mosley from holding when he got close. Ortiz telegraphs too, just not has bad.

All Mayweather fans are black and drink 40s? Quite a racist comment.

Anyway, Floyd said if he was to be beaten, there will be no excuses. That's why he wants all his fighters to take random blood and urine test. All he asks for if he loses, it will be fair and square. No excuses.

Truth be told, he did anything but telegraph the punch on floyd. It was lightning fast and he pretty much tried to punch through floyd which is why when floyd grabbed onto his arm he was already past the elbow.

He didn't trade with Mosley. Right after Bayless broke them up, Mayweather got caught sleeping with a misdirection.

Damn Doc..You must be Ortiz's mistress or something.. Get his dick out your mouth.. Listen, If he wins, then I'm sure he'll get the most credit of this era because he's done something that no one in 41 previous fights was able to do. Will Ortiz win, 90% chance..NO.. Can he? Sure, but it's unlikely.. I understand that he's big, strong & what ever else you were bitching about, but like it's been said many times before... skills pay the bills.. Floyd has come into 90% of his fights as the smaller man & don't bring up that bull**** about Marquez & Hatton- They both knew what they were getting into, so out of all those fights 2 fighters were smaller--big ****ing deal.a size advantage wouldn't have helped them anyway) Now if Ortiz happens to pull it off, I'm sure Floyd will give him his just do.. Damn man, quit acting all sensitve about this ****.. Oh & shane was known as a power puncher, he hit Floyd with 2 of the 3 shots that most fighters get knocked out with 1. Straight on the chin & 2. Right on the temple 3. Would be a wicked body shot, but he hit floyd & still got walked down in the same round..Floyd actually outlanded Shane in that 2nd rd F.Y.I. If Ortiz wins, then hey all props to him, but when Floyd wins I don't wanna hear you crying about it.

It would legitimize Ortiz and a very good WW and I would look forward to the rematch or fight vs Pac.

It all depends. If Mayweather looks like he always does, quick and sharp, and is simply hit with the wrong shots at the wrong time, and doesn't recover from a mauling attack...then all the credit in the world to Ortiz.

If Mayweather looks off and gunshy and sluggish from the start, we can conclude his condition wasn't optimal.

If Mayweather gets shot in the leg on the way, well then, that's excuse enough lol.

No matter what though, if that were to happen, Ortiz deserves recognizable credit for being the first to officially do it in dramatic fashion.
