Pre-fight excuses are for people not confident in a fighters ability to win the fight... I have no reason to have one for Floyd as I have no reason to believe he won't win... If he were to lose one SHOULD explain the loss based off the performance in the ring.

The excuse will be that Floyd is old and/or shot and/or rusty, and it will be valid. No way in hell does Ortiz beat the Floyd that fought Mosley or Marquez.

After Ortiz is done handling Floyd the excuse will be that Floyd was coming off a long layoff.

Funny thing about Mayweather is he seems to be like Roy Jones Jr. If he loses to Ortiz, then he might decide to fight better guys.. Jones fought better guys once he lost since he would have a little excuse.

If Ortiz KO Floyd my hat goes off to him. I guess that's when Pac will agree with know complains to fight Mayweather, because I doubt he would fight Ortiz.

Yeah, plus Gatti was a face first slugger who was a few years past it and had nothing to prove. Ortiz is at his physical peak and has everything to prove.

If ortiz wins, first of all he deserves great credit.

However you'd have to conclude that, unless floyd successfully came back, he's declined significantly since the hatton victory.

How it would stand is that in the last 3 years all floyd had done is out point a lightweight, beat an inactive shot (yet rightfully number 1) mosley and lost to a young lion.
