What if prime GGG and prime Lomachenko were in the same weight class

Lomachenko, the hyper intelligent angular Ukrainian southpaw H2H nightmare vs GGG, the GOAT pressure fighter and the GREATEST Middleweight of all time

Who would win if they were in the same weight class ?

 

Would the fight be over the last onion left at the Soviet food ration station? If so Lomastinko might have the upper hand on old man Golumpkin.
How come so many guys question the age of the Cubans but never the former Soviets? How old are these guys really?

This would be interesting but it depends on how well lomachenko can stay off the ropes as GGG is someone who cuts the ring off well and if he gets to the body then lomachenko is done. I’d lean towards GGG getting to him and grinding him down to a late stoppage but wouldn’t be surprised if lomachenko won

 

Probably Lomachenko in a 10-2 or 8-4 type of fight.

 

The thing with scaling up or down is that their best attributes get fuzzy. A small GGG will not hit as hard nor will Lomachenko be as quick.

I absolutely love the Ukrainian school of boxing but GGG and Loma are outliers whichever way you cut it. Derevyanchenko gave Golovkin a hell of a fight but then he's much more aggressive than Loma and Golovkin was kinda old at the time. On the other hand loma showed against Lopez (once he turned on the gas) that a long jab is not an unbeatable obstacle to him.

I honestly can't pick. Lomachenko is super evasive but GGG is renowned for cutting off the ring and imposing his game on opponents.

IMO...We've seen Loma lose twice to inferior fighters...we've never seen GGG lose...GGG stops him.

 

GGG would hunt down Lomachenko and kill his footwork with a good Jab and precision body punching making loma a more stationary target. Would probably be a close fight, but Id pick GGG to win a UD decision.

 

Soviets were very bureaucratic, gerontologists appreciate their work. There’s no reason to doubt Soviet age.

 

Doesn`t matter, Loma is far more skilled and would out-box GGG, his feet are tricky as hell his head movement is great, he`s not just athletic his fundamentals are near perfect.

 

Loma has a better jab than GGG and is a better combo puncher plus he`s more skilled than Canelo and from another planet to Jacobs.

 

GGG didn`l look good v Canelo his defense was inferior to Loma`s.

 

Loma was knocked down by Linares plus GGG is a more explosive puncher than Lopez and Linares combined , and from another planet to Linares.

 

Linares has faster hand speed p4p than GGG and had a reach advantage over Loma as did Lopez, we`re talking about Loma being the same size as GGG, don`t forget Linares and Lopez are naturally lightweights in fact Lopez is naturally bigger than 135.
