What if Rahman would have defended against Tyson instead of the Lewis rematch?

It's not just speed but also skill and infighting, whenever Tyson makes it past the jab, Rahman is in big big trouble because he has no in fighting ability and has not hook.

People are putting Rahman on a pedestal, he got outboxed by Ruiz, drew with a shot Toney, lost to a shot Holyfield. He had a big right hand he rarely landed and a very good jab Rahman here.

For the record Lewis rated Tyson but did not rate Rahman, he considered Rahman a bum

No it was obvious. His weight for Nielson and his actions surrrounding the Lewis fight. Not to mention Tyson admitted himself he was in much better shape for Etienne than he was for Lewis and that Roach pushed him and he needed that Isnt it possible that while Tyson was not a great fighter anymore a motivated Tyson that had his weight down was still good enough to beat Rahman? I think so, Rahman was not that good and besides the lucky haymaker he landed against an unmotivated out of shape Lewis, proved he was as good as the rest of the poor division.

    ok.

so let's be frank here, after flattening lewis it wouldn't have been a big shock if rahman beat anyone.

I don't know it wasn't any kind of dominating performance and he threw the shot from the other side of the ring. :yep

He backed him up with jabs and timed him as he bounced back off the ropes.

    Great performance and great victory.

huh. So his victories over Toney, Meehan, and Barrett aren't meaningful.

Not forgetting that Meehan had just given Brewster a handy boxing lesson.

That's right :good and Rahman dominated him.

Also, I guess he didn't "beat" toney officially, but he did for me.. Outworked him and muscled him around, I guess one of the judges must've seen Toney's sharp punching as more effective then Rahman's work.

I dont think either fighter looked great in that fight, but Rahman clearly one. Toney was barely punching, looked absolutely horrible-Like at utter fat slob.

Rahman was very sharp and active. I had it 116-112.

Even a shot Mike would destroy Rahman. Mikes speed an power would be too much, it would be dogfight from the first bell. The winner in this fight would be the more durable fighter, Tyson can take some serious punishment, Rahman cant... He got knocked the **** out by Maskaev, Tyson takes him out in the first round.

Yeah a draw against a 237 pound Toney was impressive stuff. Meehan and Barrett were cans worse than Etienne.

Lewis was pretty horrible that night but kudos for Rahman preparing himself and arriving early in SA

Im quoting myself but it didn't matter who won the Toney fight they both sucked so bad that night they should have declared it a NC not a draw.

It took SHOT Tyson 7 ROUNDS of straining struggle to stop Michelin Man Nielsen And he certainly did NOT destroy him - it was a war. :deal Do you have any idea how bloody SHITE that BLOB Brian Nielsen is??

And 2001 Tyson was anything but speedy - Rahman was way faster!! :bbb

    Foreman Hooooooooooooooooooooooook!:smoke

I agree with this. Brian Nielsen. Brian freaking Nielsen stretch Mike and made him look bad in spots.

And the former heavyweight champ and top 10 mainstay cant?
