What if Roy Jones Jnr fights Bernard Hopkins instead of Tarver 2

It’s often said Roy should have retired after Ruiz but I always thing the return to LHW win against Tarver was the real career peak.

We all know something happened to Roy’s chin after this in the Tarver rematch but what if it had been Bernard Hopkins instead of Tarver?

Hopkins was never a knockout artist and this was six years before their own eventual dreadful rematch. At this time Hopkins was still very much a middleweight and was right on the path to undisputed.
But what if the call came to move up and fight Roy in 2004?
Give Hopkins the benefit of the doubt that he had time in camp to gain the weight properly like he eventually did to perfection.

Personally I think Roy’s skills were still fresh enough and without BHop having the power to stop him I think Jones takes a close points decision. But I do think there’s plenty room for debate on this one.
