This would be a very bad idea .plodding HWs who Jones could out speed and fire rapid combinations as he plied up points could work but not Lewis never in million years .Lennox by brutal early ko .Hushed crowd oxygen Minutes of unconsciousness .scary

Top 3 P4P of all time, arguably number 1

Top 4 or 5 Heavyweight of all time

Obviously this hypothetical scenario could never happen in reality, first Roy is too clever to ever fight Lennox but if his ego got the better of him and he took the fight he would have been KO'ed in the first round with a solid jab.

You got me stumped. Kinda looks like something out of Finnegan's Wake.

It would have been one of the greatest wins of all time no doubt but there was a reason why it didn't happen...

Honestly, I'm still trying to figure out how in heaven's name is Roy Jones going to knock Lennox Lewis out. I'm mystified. Have I missed something?

Ah, I get it. This is an old fashioned wind up thread.

In reality though, how many minutes do you think Roy would be lying motionless on his back after LL hit him on the chin?

Nah Clinton...you haven't missed a thing. A more plausible thing to think about is the question I just asked steve1990 to consider..."how many minutes do you think Roy would be lying motionless on his back after LL hit him on the chin?" There would be real fear in the eyes of Roy's handlers, the referee, and even Lewis and his team. Imagine the result of a huge right hand missile landing on Jones' chin and the aftermath of it. Lewis would make Tarver and Johnson's ko's look like something Paulie Malignaggi would have done. What a nasty mismatch it would have been.

This fight would have probably resulted in the banning of boxing.

It's a lingo/language with which I have a passing acquaintance through blood. I used it to make me feel superior to those who don't understand what it means.

    Ceterus Paribus?
Why not just say, all things being equal?

In other words , put your watch away!

I found it a lot more readable than Stephen King or J.K. Rowling. It does take work though, I'll admit that.

I think you've confused me with Christian Langan. (Do you know what a "conspansive manifold" is? No worries, neither does anyone else, including Langan.)

You now know what "ceteris paribus" means, it didn't take you long to find out, and it will take you less time in the future to type than "all things being equal".
