What if Roy Jones move up to HW and stopped Lennox Lewis?

thats a retrospective argument too, because its only been advanced once you saw him knocked out post prime.

hopkins was seen as world class, and was becoming elite, our restrospective doesnt actually change his ability anddoesnt change that jones beat this guy with elite skills.

 

I'm not debating that it wasn't a quality win, just that he gave up a shot at Benn's WBC SMW title to move down in weight for a vacant belt. Seems odd.

 

I think it was to do with jones not wanting to deal with don king, but I was losing my interest in in boxing at the time so I dont know firsthand.

 

At least a good 10 minutes.

 

Obviously Roy knew better.

If in some parallel universe Roy did fight Lewis and knock him out, it would be hard to hate on him, even for the haters.

He would be remembered as a light heavy who successfully moved up and won against a legit HW.
Not many LHW's can say that.

But that's in another dimension. It's one thing to get Roy to even fight Lennox, much less stop him.
