What if someone told Kovalev he could turn $750,000 into $600,000,000?

Think about the temptation of that offer alone. Many people say they would be loyal, but many loyal fighters died broke, like Joe Frazier, Joe Louis, and even Ali almost went bankrupt before is last return for a big fight against Holmes.
You guys are very jaded it seems on how money affects everything around you. The idea that there is so Code of Honor is mere fairytale.
What if I told you that this offer was real but with very different numbers? Would you believe it? It does not matter what matters is if it was to happen and he left Main Events would he still be a great fighter in your eyes?:think

Kovalev has a family, somene who waits for him when he comes home and who cares about him. He has a wife who stayed with him when he fought for peanuts as an amateur and early pro career without much hope to become famous. No way he would become broke one day, like the ones of Mike Tyson, RJJ etc. .. Mike bought cars fro prostitutes, he had guys following him who didn't care about him, just his money.
Same as Mayweather today. His "friends" think he's a re****, even his father hates him, they are just there because he buys them everything. He will be broke. Not Kovalev though.

Willie Maeket is a Mayfeather/Gaymon/TMT fan and this thread was a not so subtle approval of Gaymon's shameless protection services. Not quite sure, but I think he's trying to defend Adonis "The Raping Machine" Stevenson.

The Duvas will be lucky to get him a $10m pay day. Never mind $600m

Yes. I'm not here to be anybody's cheer leader but money is money and and the offer is not that much but he can make more with another promoter when his contract is up with Main Events or he can let that other promoter or manager or whatever buy out his contract if he wants. The choice is his and his alone.
Nobody takes you, you willingly go, that's the name of the game.

Not at all. People leave trainers and promoters for greener pastures all the time. Ali left his first manager for King and the Nation and changed his name. Tyson left his earlier investors and made $300 Million. Khan left 3 managers. Calzaghe left his promoter and made millions. Mayweather of course you all know his story. Oscar is a boss now. And on and on. How long will a couple of hundred thousand last for a man that is 32 years old and fighting 3 times a year for less than $300,000 after taxes and fees. He is in a different tax bracket now and has to pay the government of his residence annually. It adds up after a while.

Hard to believe Kovalev is making $300,000 per fight when he is a leading name in boxing.

Unless the Duvas are absolutely raping him.

His manager is Egis Klimas, who brought him over when he had nothing, gave him a home and money to live on - for years. The trust & loyalty is there, plus they're from the same region of the world.

Main Events gave Kovalev a shot when nobody else would. Klimas is getting other fighters put on with Main Events, it's unlikely Kovalev leaves them but not impossible. However, Golden Boy or Top Rank would be a more likely destination than PBC.

Kovalev isn't being offered no $600m, completely unrealistic figure to make your point.
