Sheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeit could you imagine if he had these names to his resume? It would be the greatest sporting record in all of history.
There would be no doubts if he pulled if off.Problem was, would he be able to beat Moore, Johnson, and possibly Patterson in title defenses?
Robinson could have easily been the lightweight, welterweight, middleweight, and light heavyweight champion of the world had circumstances been tweaked just a little. He's the greatest fighter anyone alive has ever seen. (But he ain't the greatest fighter of the modern era. Greb is.)
As stone says, all he needed was a slight tweak of circumstances. Had he been a bigger name earlier on he'd have certainly got a lw title shot and noone around then would have beaten him at the weight. Maybe in a rematch he'd have fought a smarter fight against maxim, but then again if he wouldn't have been as active may maxim would have faired much better. Very difficult to say. Even without facing moore he'd have been champ from lw though to mw suffering an injury loss whilst up on cards against the lhw champ. That would have edged him above harry for me. And as impossible as that sounds, just bear in mind that langford beat gans, walcott, ketchel, o'brien and wills. That's greats in every division from lw to hw.
