It certainly would have been tested. That would be a fine resume right there. A lot of them didn't want to fight him the US despite him being the much larger draw.

 

yes very much agree with you but jones was such a big star he could of pushed for the big fights but did not very sad statemount about the modern state of boxing if you think about it

 

if jones had come over to england to fight eubank benn or collins he would of made more money. they would of sold at least a forty thousand live gate, if calzaghe can be accused not leving home so can jones

Let me say this in RJJ's defense, not everybody with a meal ticket back in the day was REALLY lining up to face him. It's easy to blame Roy now, but the onus was on both he AND his preferred opponent - points often overlooked today.

I remember well that period when many were accusing RJJ of avoiding Dariusz Michaczewski. To be sure, it was a fight all hardcore fans wanted...and "Tiger" seemed all too willing to get Jones into the ring....but as it turns out, strictly on his terms.

Let the record show that RJJ wasn't the only one at fault where that failure to make a big fight was concerned.

 

benn and mcclellan have a chance but only that you can never completely rule out punchers of that calibre,but as i say only a chance
i also think if he had fought ottke in germany he would of lost by dq for hitting ottke to hard and to often
