What happens if Weaver loses the title early and the cowboy gets a chance to face better opposition while still keeping his early hunger?
Funny question, Tillis never really impressed me, especially against Weaver. Once he felt Weaver's power he just ran for 15 rounds.
His career ends up the same he run away from Weaver he didn't have that mentality as a winner at world level. Tillis would have moments vs notable fighters and then just be happy to cruise when he thought he couldn't win anymore. A great example of this is vs Marvis Frazier he had Frazier out on his feet early on and Frazier was actually very fortunate the referee came to his aid. But instead of Tillis really going all out to try and secure the win in the other rounds, he fought in 1 gear for the remainder of the fight and was happy just to see out the fight and go the distance.
