May as well answer my own question seeing as the thread has gone quiet

    Rios

    Caballero

    Arce

    Pacquiao

    Chavez jr

Pavlik (if he sorts himself out)

    Khan

    Cotto

    Marquez

    Donaire

    Bradley

    Broner

    Gamboa

= 12 to 2 in favour of Top Rank (altho Pavlik vs Andrade, Cotto vs Alvarez, Bradley vs Ortiz and Gamboa vs John could go either way IMO) - tough calls but even if they did go in favour of the GBP boys it would still be 8 to 6 for Top Rank

    This is my suggestion:

TR/GB each put 25M for purse payouts - 50M in Purses

10 Fights (the most lucrative fights on the list provided earlier). The payout will be as follow:

1-5M + % of PPV to the WINNER
1-3M + % of PPV to the LOSSER

TR/GB will invest 40M (of the 50M) to award on these W/L purses all depending on the quality of boxers, etc. For example: Cotto vs Canelo could "max" the 5/3M where boxers of "lesser" followers will draw less cash on the purse.

The promoting team with the most wins will get the addtional 10M to award to the winning team boxers = 1M X Boxer (winner or losser on final purse) + % of Final profits.

This will take place during a time frame of 10 months = 1 Megafight per month.

If there is a draw for example 5W/5L per promoting team, then the team with most KO/TKOs will win.

So, 25M investment per promoting team = HUGE gains via PPV, Advertisement, Gate, Merchandise, etc.....

Who fights? Well, from a selected poll of boxers let the fans vote who fights who by voting like they do for the Baseball All Star game for a period of lets say 3 months. The fan will see who they want to fight! No ducking, no BS!

This would be great for boxing and elevate the sport to a new level IMHO.

    What you think?

Wow! You've obviously put some thought into that - well done and thank you!

What do I think? I think thats a fecking brilliant idea and a fantastic breakdown of the purses :good

Maybe having more than 1 of these bouts per month (2-3 if possible) would see the tournament wrapped up quicker (just thinking super 6 and the length of time it took, injuries etc) and would allow for other Promoter vs Promoter tourneys before the boxers involved lose their appeal, get injured, get KTFO, leave their prime, whatever! (of course, there will always be 'new meat for the grinder' but you get me)

All in all tho Im really liking your thoughts on this
    Cheers
    :cheers

Ill agree. May be, do 3 or 4 really "stacks" events the final event being the biggest.

I would do them in diferent locations like:

    1 X Vegas
    1 X MSG
    1 X Mexico City
1 X England, Moscow or Berlin

Or something like Philipines or Africa! It would be sick!

If only huh?! It would be epic for sure!! :thumbsup

I may wait for this poll to let it run its course and then next week, whichever team has 'won' according to the polls and comments will qualify for the next round and then I'll run a King vs Shaw (for example) thread perhaps?!

Then follow on with other tournaments (Goosen-Tutor vs DiBella etc) in a fantasy knockout tournament style scenario in the same format as this tourney (if that makes sense hehe), and see how it pans out?!

If nothing else it'll help me kill some valuable time in work eh

A few years back TR no doubt had the better fighters but right now all they really have is Pacman. GBP has the better fighters now. Once Pacman leaves TR they'll be ****ed.

And btw Cotto isn't with TR or GBP. Hes under his own banner.

Brandon Rios (LW) vs Jorge Linares (LW) Jorge Linares GBP 1-0. At 140 I'd pick Rios.

Ivan Calderon (LFW) vs Randy Caballero (LFW) Draw. Calderon has seen better days, and I don't know enough about Caballero. GBP 1-0-1.

Jorge Arce (SBW) vs Erik Morel (BW) - step up or down in weight required. Jorge Arce. Tied 1-1-1

Manny Pacquiao (WW) vs Devon Alexander (WW) Manny Pacquiao. If pacquiao walks in to one of Alexanders right hands, than an upset can happen. The proplem is that Alexander has no left hand. TR 2-1-1.

Julio Cesar Chavez jnr (MW) vs Peter Quillin (MW) Peter Quillin. Quillin is improving at a better rate than Chavez is. Tied 2-2-1

Kelly Pavlik (SMW) vs Liberado Andrade (SMW) Kelly Pavlik I think we'll see Pavlik beng back in the championship hunt soon. Andrade I think had his momet in the sun. TR 3-2-1

Kendall Holt (LWW) vs Amir Khan (LWW) Amir Khan. After watching his loss to Peterson and Pacquiao's to Bradley. I'm not sure if Freddy Roach trained boxers are really finshers. I think he'll do enough to beat Holt though. Tied 3-3-1

Miguel Cotto (SWW) vs Saul Alvarez (SWW) Saul Alvarez. Cotto isn't really with Top Rank anymore, but I'm not sure who they have at 154. Cotto is a very good but not great boxer. Alvarez is showing good skills and gaing a lot of exparance for a 21 year old. GBP 4-3-1

Juan Manuel Marquez (WW) vs Robert Guerero (WW) Juan Manuel Marquez. I'm not sold on Robert Guerero yet. He could prove me wrong. For now I have Marquez winning this one. Tied 4-4-1

Nonito Donaire (JFW) vs Randy Caballero (JFW) Nonito Donaire. Why is Caballero getting 2 fights here?. TR 5-4-1

Timothy Bradley (WW) vs Victor Ortiz (WW) Timothy Bradley. Could end on a clash of heads. Not saying it would be on purpous, but I wouldn't be surprised. TR 6-4-1

Urbano Antillon (LW) vs Adrien Broner (JLW) - step up or down in weight required. Adrien Broner TR 6-5-1

Yuriorkis Gamboa (FW) vs Chris John (FW) Yuriorkis Gamboa TR 7-5-1

You should match Donaire against Mares. That would be an explosive fight!

    Bold/Red.

Cotto is not a good boxer? He is better than Canelo. Cotto can bang, box, smart pressure, fight on the back foot, and a master at cutting the ring and his ring IQ is world class.

Canelo is no where near Cotto in skill and ring IQ. I give him that he is younger, but he has not been tested with a top tier fighter like Miguel.

I got Cotto by TKO 8-10 or wide UD.
