Mike Tyson was the brutalist KO artist that i have seen in color film. I watched him growing up and he put people to SLEEP. i always thought he was invincible. but then he became mortal and lost. went to jail, made a comeback and then came THE FIGHT. i had wished that tyson could have beaten holyfield. tyson doesn't crack the top 5 on most fans ATG for the heavies. IF tyson beats holyfield does he crack the top 5? and if tyson ALSO beats foreman and lennox lewis is he the GOAT at heavyweight?
Tyson would not get much credit form the general boxing community for any post-prison bout. They hated him from then on. However, in my opinion, Tyson in his prime beats every Heavyweight ever by KO (excluding 60s Ali).
This is correct, Holy was widely thought to be totally washed-up, after his fights with Moorer & Bowe III.
I wonder how things would have turned out if Tyson had beaten The Real Deal. I wonder who he might have fought next? There was so much talent around at the time. Briggs, Mercer, Tua. I think he would have fought a better fight against Lewis back then, too.
Moorer was next on the menu & no Tyson would have got zip credit for the win as he was expected to wipe Evander out & it was considered such a miss-match that Don King had promised to refund 50% to all PPv subscibers if it did'nt go 3 rounds after the uproar of the Bruce Seldon fiasco. Don't forget that King got Tyson to bin the WBC belt & it would have been Moorer/Akinwanda & Forman/McCall next or maybe Lewis after Akinwanda for the Undisputed Title as King had an exclusive with the MGM to bring in another 3 Mega fights & all Tyson fights were Mega $$$$$$ fights.
Except Tucker Smith Green or Tillis........... This is a perfect illustration of how Tysons ability has become exaggerated through out the years - It's become like a religion now where people just cherry pick what they want to believe regardless of facts!
