He can't fight for the regular WBA title unless he gives up his WBC title.

I think they called Gamboa a "Unified Champ" and John a "Super Champ" which is basically the same thing other than John was the real WBA champ.
As they had a vacant regular belt this was awarded to Jonathan Victor Barros as he was the interim champ which now leaves a gap for an interim champ.

If Vitali unified with the regular champ he would likely be a unified champ to Wlad's super champ and then there would likely be WBA regular title fight by Valuev/Ruiz or Haye/Mormeck

Let's see Boystov against some live opponents, who aren't no-hopers, before jumping to conclusions that he can beat a Klit bro.

Thanks guys for your responses. That would be ridiculous if there were two Super champs

This whole system is ****ing ridiculous. There can be only one champion per weight class. Now there are dozen champions and another dozen super champions, silver champions, diamond champions, interim champions, gold champions, platinum champions. FFS!! Some idiot said ppl wanted to see more champions and belts. Where are all those ppl who want to see all those alphabet champions. I want to see one champion peer weight class and the rest are just fighting for the mandatory challenger spot. Sorry for ot but angry doesn't even start to describe the feeling I have towards these so called "championsships".

That's true, John was made super champ, then Gamboa unified his IBF and WBA, and was called super champ as well.
Therefore, Barros was called "regular" champ, and they actually had 3 WBA champs (unless there were interim champs too, not sure), until Gamboa was stripped.

So yes, i suppose if Vitali won the WBA regular, he and his brother could both be Super Champs (but the WBA would still make another regular champ, again)

Why not? It's happened before (See Orlando Salido the IBF champion fighting the WBA regular champ Yuriorkis Gamboa)

Because at that point Chris John was made champion in recess because he'd been inactive. So at that point Gamboa was the only champion so became the super champ when he unified. When John became active again they did have two super champions for a while until Gamboa was stripped.

So if Wlad became champion in recess Vitali could unify the WBA and WBC, but then there'd likely be another regular champion created and when Wlad returned the bros would both hold super titles. But regular champions can't unify.
