Lewis bombs him out like he did Golota. :yep

The dude would be sound asleep.

I think he would still be at the Staples Center today if it was Wlad instead of Vitali that night.

If Rahman could upset Lewis, then so could Wlad... Rahman had one of the worst chins the division has seen, yet Lennox couldn't KO1 him in either fight, and was knocked down for the count in one of them.

Safe to say that Wlad is better than Rahman, and his chances against Lennox were better. So an upset win is not completely out of the question.

Nope, it would be Corrie/Wlad over again but in the first round. Lewis post Tyson was bad, but he would STILL have canned chinny Wladopus. :yep

Wlad Klit was useless in 2002, absolutely useless. :D

Lewis went more than 2 rounds with much lesser opponents.

kliturd refers to a fan, not the boxer.

missed that bit - I have no idea whether its yes or no, so its irrelevant to me whether this former LMW was running from sanders or not.

you can keep that argument, needlesstosay - heavyweight sanders was so dangerous that a former light middle ran from him, since it does you no favours. if its true, it makes sanders all the weaker, that you needed to resort to a guy from 3 or 4 divisions down as proof of corries ability.

I can't really imagine the Wlad who lost to Sanders and Brewster having what it took to even beat a faded Lewis the night he fought Vitali.

Wlad of course would have a punchers chance but he simply wasn't on Lewis level or even Vitali's level at that point in his career as proven by the losses to Sanders and Brewster.

He was way better than Mavrovic who went life and death and Rahman who smashed Lewis's china chin into tiny nano particles. Rewatch his bouts from 01//02 if you think he wasn't good enough. Jefferson, Shufford, Botha, Mercer, McCline all ranked guys with records added of 142-12-6 and all stopped, some for the first time.

60/40-ish to Lennox. I give Lennox the edge more often than not for those respective versions, but it's a dangerous fight.

I favor the Lewis uppercut on the inside to be the defining punch, but Wlad's straight right is an X-factor with one punch KO potential, as Lewis had much more success against left-hook centric fighters.

Not sure if this has been raised already but Lewis/Vit-K took place mid-2003. Earlier that same year, Wlad had been beaten by Sanders. A year later he'd be stopped again; this time by Brewster.

Between 2003 and 2004, therefore, might not have been the best period for Wlad to have faced Lewis; even a disinterested, overweight and past it Lewis. What made the Lewis/Vit-K bout so interesting was the initial resilience of Vit-K. The man ate bombs and kept coming, albeit to his detriment and eventual loss.

I really can't see Wlad, at any time, ever taking that type of punishment.
Lewis by KO in a similar if not briefer time-frame.

That's generally my take on it, as well.

The primary reason I rate Wlad as live an underdog as I do is that the right hand was always a dangerous punch for Lewis, and Wlad has always had a phenomenal one. He also carries one-punch power Vitali doesn't. Lennox was much better neutralizing the effectiveness of left hookers.

That factor leads me to think this fight would be a little more boring than expected by fans now in hindsight had it genuinely played out.
