What if Wlad fought Lewis instead of Vitali the night of 2002

So Herol argues that Lewis was Vitali's worst ever opponent? :patsch

That's absurd. Even old Lewis was better than a lot of others on Vitali's resume.

I'm thinking that he already took them ... twice. That's what happens when you get old

The logic behind your speculation is quite sound. An opponent, who was proven to be dangerous early on in fights, might need to be stretched into less comfortable territory and, thus, require an adjustment in tactics by Lewis. It makes sense. But then, another way of looking at this could be to remind ourselves of the Lewis MO and perhaps also speculate on just how dangerous Wlad would have been viewed by the Lewis camp.

Even under Steward, there was the hint of the cavalier about Lewis, tending to ask big questions of his opponents early on; at the same time, aggressively establishing himself in a bout. Often, this resulted in relatively early stoppage wins. I don't think Lewis ever stopped an opponent beyond the eighth round, with the majority of his early nights coming inside six (including his losses).

This pattern was particularly prevalent in bouts against his biggest opponents. Lewis was known to get up and go for it against the bigger heavies because of the perceived challenge. It was the guys of smaller stature, who seemed more likely to take him the distance.

I also don't think Lewis, at the time, had the kind of regard for either of the Klitschko brothers that would have given him pause for thought. Lewis saw them both as big and over-hyped - a recipe for for stirring Lewis into his most aggressive form.

On this basis, I believe the "firefight" between Lewis and Wlad would have been the inevitable occurrence; more probable than that of a patient dragging out into the championship rounds. Of course, it is not beyond the realms of possibility for Lewis to have changed tack, after asking his early questions. However, I think, at that stage of Wlad's career, those questions would have found him wanting.

Unfortunate circumstances do not make one an inferior fighter.

You repeating the phrase "T.K.O. 6" doesn't change the fact that Lewis was losing rounds while getting pummeled by someone who was severely injured.

vitalinhad no choice but to go for it, what else would you expect from a guy in danger of being stopped who cant defend himself?

No, it's not. Literally it reads that Lewis was Vitali's worst ever opponent. Here's a top tip: try typing slower, and you will make more sense

The thread is about Wlad but the Lewturds still trot out tko6 like it has any relevance. But you're right, Vitali won the event and Lewis retired as a result.

There's a chance that the aggressive and powerful Wlad KOs Lewis. But it's more likely that Lewis KOs the inexperienced and more vulnerable version of Wlad.

Once you make a coherent one, I'll consider it. Take your time.

The Lewis that fought Vitali destroys any version of Wlad.
