What if Wlad of today had fought Sanders?

Wlad got sparked out in brutal fashion. One of the most one sided fights in recent memory. Under what epistemological premise could you seriously say that a "prepared" Wlad would definitely win?:patsch

The fight was as one sided as gang ****.

Sanders would shatter that Glass Jaw again.

    Watch the fight again....

As you can see, Wlad was fighting aggressive and sloppy. Jumping in with meaningless power punches that weren't even close to being set up or available. He ate the same counter right that Vitali ate at the 0:57 mark in the video and wasn't even fazed. He simply didn't think he was in any real danger and fought wreckless and sloppy. Sanders made him pay for it.

As you can also see... Wlad was clearly hit EVERY time that he was knocked down. The second knockdown he was hit with a straight left, right hook, straight left combo immediately when they retarted the action. Which, at that point his legs were clearly gone anyways.

Anyone who actually knows anything about fighting knows that ANYONE can be caught. Simple as that. I am making the assumption that Wlad would win based on the simple fact that Wlad is far superior to Corrie Sanders.

Your right. Same exact punch and it didn't even move him. Wow. The chin checkers need to watch that.

Same result, even though Sanders was about 38 at the time. Wlad has no large height and reach advantage, he could not just keep Sanders away with his jab.

Wlad of today fights in an entirely different style. His defense and jab would neutralize Sanders in boring but effective fashion. It amazes me that boxing fans can't see that after 5 or more years of dominance under Steward that Wlad is a completely different and superior fighter now. Dull, methodical and unemotional, yes, but much better.

Fact is an in shape Sanders is faster then pretty much anyone Wlad has ever fought and along with the power and the fact its coming out of the southpaw stance that left IS goin to land on Wlad at some point early weather Wlad takes it pretty then he did then is another story.

Wlad can try and jab and stay away if he wants but Sanders is big and fast and he wont be kept at bay like most of Wlad's smaller, weaker, slower and more timid opponents that were happy to get jabbed over and over just as long as he didnt throw the right hand too much.

The Sanders from that fight gets to any verison of Wlad just weather Wlad can withstand it we'll never know.

This really is a rematch that should've happened about three or four years ago. Sanders could land really heavy shots in the first three or four rounds of any fight he was in. The Sanders/Rahman fight was a real slug-fest, with both guys landing bombs before Corrie ran out of gas. I believe Wlad/Sanders 2 would've answered a lot of questions we have about Wlad today. Wlad would've beaten Sanders if he could've gotten past round 3 or 4 and today's version probably could've done that.

Wladimir of today would handle his ass like he did Peter in the second fight. He would fight safety first until Sanders is too tired and ****ed up to defend then Wladimir would knock him out more than likely around rounds 8-10.

Watch the vid every time Wlad goes to jab Sanders puts out his glove and catches the jab he controls Wlads jab there for he controls the fight easily getting up on Wlad to throw his power shots when he wants cause Wlad cant set the Jab this will always happen when these 2 fight Wlad cannot handle fast power punchers. I expect to see Haye use exactly the same tackticks to get the win in two weeks time.

Peters is slow of foot and punch and not a good comparison with Sanders.

True it's not a good comparison. What I meant to say was Wladimir would have fought him differently the second time than he did the first. In the first he seemed desperate at times to land on Sanders as well as Peter in there first fight. In the second fight he looked composed and controlled the pace. I think that he would still be in danger in the first two rounds due to Sanders speed and explosiveness. I thought Atlas hit the nail on the head though when during the second Peter fight he said that the difference between the Wladimir of today and the one who fought Sanders was that Wladimir didn't leave himself in a position to be hit after he throws. Either way though I really wish that Sanders was younger and active so we could have seen a rematch and what results it would have produced.

Fair points I agree with most of what your saying.
