    What up Slick,

I think Toney will win. Obviously he's going to have to catch Couture. Here's why I think he can....Couture doesn't really set up takedowns with kicks, nor is he young or fast enough to do that Rashad/GSP do with their blast double legs after a set up punch (I wouldn't give Toney a chance in MMA against this type of takedown artist)....But Couture kind of wades in and "dirty boxes" until he can wrap you up and try to upper body throw you. It's a question of time and space....And Couture will spend too much time in Toney's space and BAM!!!--If Couture had a Rampage type jaw I would pick him....Then again he does have a strong HGH looking jawline....Nope still stickin with the Toney KO :yep

<----Me,although Randy has been knocked out during stand up before.Randy is older than James so his chin might be non-existent if he gets pegged by a former champion heavyweight in 4 oz gloves.

I think a lot of people are looking at this fight the wrong way.

This fight came about because James Toney was jawing about how he can beat any of the top guys in the UFC.he went to great lengths to perpetuate this idea.He claimed he was sparring with former UFC champ Andre Arlovsky;that was a lie.He chased down Dana White from city to city following UFC events to get a private meeting with him and talked his way into a contract.Dana White is giving James what he's asking for.And if James can't bring something to the Octagon aside from his boxing skill,I don't think it hurts boxing in any way, shape,or form. It would be James Toney not having the MMA skills to back up his **** talking, not boxers being incapable of doing well in MMA.

What's primarily at issue is can boxers do well in MMA with just their boxing skills? The answer is yes and no. Yes, they can find some varied level of success, in the same regard that a wrestler, thai fighter, and BJJ practicioner can as well.

However, no one is disputing that boxers can cross-over and learn the other skills that will in turn lead to greater success in the mixed sport.

I think that is the key difference that people, mostly boxers themselves, make.

It's the boxers that think that boxing skill alone is enough that are woefully mistaken.
