... yea. he was in there since 8 yrs old. if it's a mental thing, those are the worse things to get over. i know how it is to not be psyched up for the game... hope he comes back and make a go of it. would much rather see him in a fight than chambers or any of the other young heavies in America. jmo!

He reminds me of tua. Hyped up with only a couple of wins to show for it. Both got exposed eventually.

I never thought much of Guinn. I watched him coming up and thought he was just average, then after his loss to the very average Monte Barret I knew he would never be more than a C level fighter.

Dominic Guinn is in a constant state of Zen. He's always so relative and calm, and rarely gets over excited, even when going for the kill.

I've seen him hurt a fighter, clearly see he's hurt, then lackadaisically throwing a barrage of shots. W/O any passion at all.

Sometimes I swear he's smoking grass before getting in the ring. Then when watching tape of himself getting outworked or handled, he starts blazing then thinking, "well, I didn't get stopped, and hey. this still of my gums over my nose looks like wow.

I just don't think he cares whether or not he earns a title, just so long as he can keep earning a decent living, happy with what he's got, he'll go out there and do what he figures is gonna get him into another fight, and collecting another check. Win, lose or draw he'll get ready for his next one just the same.

Everytime we talk about American heavies and guys who stumble off of the path my mind always runs on Oliver "The Atomic Bull" McCall. He had seven losses by the time he fought Lewis and ko'd Lewis in stunning fashion. He lost a controversial decision to Bruno and never got a shot again because, quite frankly, he went crazy due to drugs. Guinn isn't anywhere near going nuts like McCall did- at least as far as we can tell- but he doesn't pack a whollop like McCall does either!

I think we have been spoiled by Tyson's run in the 80's! We expect heavyweight champs to be invincible-- well, to be quite honest- and Lewis and Wladimir can attest to it- they are simply not.

Just to add to it: I always thought Vitali was a better champ than Wladimir.
