Surely anyone of non-British descent are entitled not to fight as British? **** the religous aspect (and where its likely to take this thread).
:think You could argue that as Eire is part of the British Isles, then any boxer from there could be classed as British :hey
May be he's one of those Plastic Celts from the good 'ole US of A. (Although the name isn't very celtic!!)
You know Silvio Dante is a character from the Sopranos right? And that the Sopranos is set in New Jersey, USA? I'm not actually from New Jersey and my name isn't actually Silvio Dante and I still don't understand the problem with my original post, except maybe the Scottish part which is obviously why I said that was ambiguous. Maybe you's don't really understand what places are actually in the UK or who is a citizen or...?
Yeah, I got that. The avatar was a bit of a giveaway, it was just an attempt at humour. The the "problem" (for me anyway) is that you needlessly brought religion into the issue, why single out Scottish Catholics when any boxer of non-British descent would also be justified in wanting to to be billed out of his 'original' country? It'll be a cold day in hell when I need geography lesson from a Yank especially one who even types in a New Jersey accent!! Or is that Scouse??
Listen pal I don't know if you're on a wind up here or what, but I am quite obviously not American. I only mentioned Scottish Catholics because...well you know why they (in some cases) feel they are not British. No hard feelings. I will now step away from the can of worms. Peace brother.
