I read an old thread about cheat days and from what i understand its a day off your diet. Correct?
I didn't see anything in the other thread about if it is a good or bad idea.
May someone please help me please?

I wouldn't say a cheat day, more a cheat meal. It's just a meal of whatever you want (not too mad, a pizza or something). Some people feel the need for junk food and have cheat meals to fill that need otherwise they'll just go mad and eat a whole load of **** food for a few days. Others get along just fine eating healthy 100% of the time. It's phsychological, nothing more.

Bad idea...why cheat? It only hurts you in the long run.

There days where you eat what you want and don't worry about diet. Theres a belief that it helps you lose weight(dnt get why) but it does help mentally imo
Probably because the op enjoys and has urrges foods that he doesnt consume usually. I don't believe it hurts you in the long run but thats opinion

Yeah this. I started having cheat days and it helped alot mentally and i was still losing weight so i thought they worked................. Untill it became a cheat weekend.

I have cheat meals every day. My training allows it and I feel better eating calorie dense food, I can train at a higher intensity more often without gaining any weight. Food is energy, no such thing as 'bad' food. Alcohol is the only thing that is purely 'bad'.

i work along these lines. I dont need to fit in a weight class yet so i train hard and eat what i want. Im quite lucky that i dont really want junk food and **** anyways. I eat alot of home cooked meals that are probably high in fats ect but in the grand scheme of things i know im fit and healthy.

At the moment i wouldnt mind loosing a couple of pounds but for me that will mean just going t-total for a while or having slightly smaller portion sizes and it will start to come off again
