It's not fair because boxers these days are prima donnas that need a **** ton of money before taking the tough fights.

Who would you rather be, a boxer making millions with 35 or so fights, or the old timey who beat up a ton of fellow Hall of Famers, but who died broke and alone? I'm sure Floyd will be just fine sitting in his mansion knowing he'll never be on a top 10 ATG list.

Maybe if they accomplished what the old greats did like Ali, Greb, Leonard, and Duran did they would get a spot on the list?

For sure. Never came to Cali before during the warmer months, but every time you start to feel the sun on you here, a breeze conveniently comes through. We get the monsoons during June/July and puts the humidity through the roof, @ 115 degrees.

Barney Ross deserves a mention. :yep

I like Ezzard over half those guys. Beat Burley x2, Moore x3 just to scratch the surface. They were also the top rated guys at 160 and 175 when those victories took place and both are top 15-20ish range for most people. His little HW reign makes it more ridiculous. :deal

well pointed out. that means rigo would be one of the best boxers today, because he has like 200 + fights ir you counter in his amateur career, which was top of the game.

    also very good point.

thats right. heavys are **** today. still klit bros and haye would give problems to all ot of heavys no matter past or present.

that means it should be 2 lists. the one with the resume background, which means the more championchip fights you had, the more overall fights you had, the better you stand on those lists. than muhammad ali should be behind jimmy wilde. who had much more fights :D.

the other list, considering who actualy was the best boxer p4p during his prime. which means, we look for the fastest, hardest punching, best chin, most technicl dude around. which would obvious be guys like sugar ray robinson, roy jones jr. or sugar ray leonard, who come closest to being perfect in every way shape of form.

Barney Ross definitely. McClarnin too. of course Charles, what an absolute badass. Too bad he didn't win the HW title, would have put him in contention for a top 3 or 4 spot IMO

No Marciano even mentioned? I know he didn't face the best competition in his era, but 49-0 has to speak for something, right?
