Indeed. But couldn't the rounds in some 7-5 fights be so clear that if the wrong guy won it could be called a robbery? Morales-Pac was a clear 7-5, and if the judges got that wrong I might want to call it a robbery.
Your right I guess but if the fight was awarded a draw would you be up in arms then? I used 8-4 to show that even a draw would be a robbery but a clear 7-5 which goes the other way could be classed as a robbery too. Interesting question, my definition is by no means a rule set in stone, its more an example and there are exceptions so every fight should be looked at on a individual basis.
If enough rounds are truly clear that even a draw shouldn't be possible I would call it a robbery. In reality most rounds don't involve almost all clear rounds, so clear 7-5 fights are rare. In most cases 8-4 fights could fairly reasonably be scored draws. But just saying that we have to be aware that boxing is scored by rounds. (I think it should be less strictly scored by rounds, but that's a separate topic.)
Yeah clear 7-5 are rare but I thought Badou Jack vs Degale was a clear win yet noone screamed robbery. Every round jack won was conclusive whereas most of degale rounds were swing rounds after the knockdown. Your right boxing is scored by rounds which is why I hate when people scream robbery without actually scoring the fight. If you think something's a robbery, it should because your scorecard is way different to the judges, not because you 'feel' like one person dominated.
